2011-12 Past & Present Basketball Begins to Take Shape: A Panini America Mini Gallery

Strolling down the aisle in the Panini America production department earlier this week, I was struck by a vibrantly-hued uncut sheet of throwback bliss standing guard next to Production Manager Andre Jackson.

Upon closer inspection, that oversized spectacle turned out to be my first live look at the stunning Bread for Health insert in the upcoming 2011-12 Past & Present Basketball. From the captivating combination of colors to the aging of the primary photos, there’s a lot to love in this reimagining of an old-school classic.

Just hours later, some of the first on-card autographs from the product — in this case cards from the Modern Marks insert — arrived back in Acquisitions. Short story long, I felt it was time to share some of this sneak-peek goodness with loyal readers of The Knight’s Lance.
Enjoy, and stay tuned for additional updates.

    1. Fair questions. This from the esteemed Keith Hower from our NBA product development team:
      Limited:
Ersan Ilyasova-Common, Silver Spotlight, Gold Spotlight, and Platinum Spotlight
      Gold Standard:
Ersan Ilyasova-Gold, Platinum Gold, Black Gold, Signs of Gold Autographs

  1. What can I say….incredible images as always! thanks for giving us Knights Lance readers the first pics of what is so far an incredible start to the Panini lineup of NBA products this year! Gotta love the throwback colors as well!

  2. I already pre-ordered two boxes and two boxes of the 2011-12 Limited. Can’t wait for May to get here already.

  3. So is it Past & Present because of the use of a Past theme with Present players or are there retired players in there? Who am I kidding, just let me know if Byron Scott is in there and I’ll go from there…..

  4. Any Rays in upcoming releases? 🙂 Just did some googling and found an old Bread for Health Mikan diecut so I know what set you are paying homage to now. They look different i’l definetly be getting a few!
