2012-13 Limited Hockey Stars in a Stunning Episode of Panini Unwrapped (Contest)

With so much going on this time of year, it took us a little longer than we would have liked to produce the following must-see episode of Panini Unwrapped starring the live-today 2012-13 Limited Hockey. Late this afternoon, Panini America's Chris Barr and Tracy Hackler ripped through four boxes of the product in an effort to give collectors an idea of just what to expect.

With so much going on this time of year, it took us a little longer than we would have liked to produce the following must-see episode of Panini Unwrapped starring the live-today 2012-13 Limited Hockey. Late this afternoon, Panini America’s Chris Barr and Tracy Hackler ripped through four boxes of the product in an effort to give collectors an idea of just what to expect.

What wasn’t expected, however, was the massive — and we mean “massive” — hit Barr pulled from his first box. You’ll have to watch the video to find out exactly what it was. You’ll also have to stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance in the coming days to find out exactly how you can win it. We’re also going to give away some of the other sweet cards from this episode — as well as a few boxes of 2012-13 Limited Hockey — through another of our trademark Scavenger Hunts, which we’ll explain after the video.

Now, onto the Scavenger Hunt details. So, how does it work? Easy. You see the main image at the top of this post featuring Barr (left), Hackler (right) and the Limited logo in the middle? Well, we’ve taken that logo, reduced its size considerably and hidden it into one of the cards included in the two galleries linked below.

You mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find that hidden image and tell us on what card you found it via a comment TO THIS POST. We’ll give you until 12 p.m. CST tomorrow (Thursday, February 7) to get your entries in.

As for the monster card Barr pulled, we’ll have additional details on how you can win that one in the coming days. Good luck and happy hunting.

  38. Really like the Limited brand but what would make it even better would be if you could make the rookie manufactured patch autos the same as the rookie auto patches in Limited Football.

The image is hidden in the Sakic travels dual patch.

  39. i hope i am not to late. overslept today. the image can be found in the second gallery, picture # 26 of joe sakic in the jersey on the right

  40. The rookie autos and monikers are not embroidered. They look like silk screened t-shirts. You need to use the patches used on 10/11 limited, becasue these look cheap.

  41. I think it’s joe sakic limited travels card. What a creative way to use left over jerseys!

  51. Thanks to everyone for participating. The four winners — selected with a huge assist from Random.org — are Oliver Cyment, TheFrozenInferno, C. Thrash and E Blasick. Thanks again and stay tuned for our next contest. Winners, we’ll be in touch to get your mailing address.

  52. what is going on here. There are only 4 entrants to this contest that qualified on time how all these other entrants got on here and with dates earlier than the ones when we posted is just wrong. This is dirty and I will be making a complaint to the NHL the NHLPA my MP my MPP as well as the better business bureau. This stinks and I will never but another panini item or pack again . I can’t believe you did this .

    1. David, what are you talking about? All comments for these contests are not approved until the contest ends so as not to share everyone’s answers. Trust me, anyone who entered after the deadline was not eligible to win. Everything here is on the level — as I’m sure any of our seemingly countless contest winners can attest.

  53. Thanks Tracy and Panini America for another shot at some sweet cards …Congrats to all the winners …not the whiners….What Tracy no response to my earlier smart – – – comment made in my earlier post…lol….Broken Glass(Board Members) thought you would have caught that one…wait for wait for it…lol…Be good everyone!
    Thanks again

  54. Sorry Tracy . From the perspective of viewing the entries at the time in which I entered there appeared to be only two other entries. I checked back at the deadline but only saw one more entry. After posting my message i came to realize what happened and why i didn’t see the other entries . Feel free to remove my now embarrasing post. And yes I will keep on buying panini how could I not.

  55. This is a absolutely spectacular product guys! When collecting a certain player it is nice to be able aquire cards that mirrors his career, in this case amongst others all-star game cards. Also the Travels subset, the award winners cards. Keep up the unimaginatory stuff and your stock will rise all to the top in the eyes of hockey collectors. Nice to see Pominville in there as well.

  56. I just wanted to say that one thing i lack a bit in todays cards are dual or maybe even triple jerseys and autos with players from different teams. I know the absolute big guns gets say a Crosby-Ovechkin one but many many players seem to be stuck with often the same old teammate year after year. In this set we get Net Assets and let me tell you it’s not often some of those players gets a card with a player from another team like this.

One cool thing just from the top of my head would be a goalie and a forward on some kind of Breakaway theme, that would be cool.
