Panini America Pays All-Star Tribute to the Superstar Signers of 2012 Cooperstown

July 10, 2012

As the baseball world fixes a romantic gaze on tonight’s annual midsummer classic in Kansas City, the folks inside Panini America HQ have been privy to a galaxy’s worth of of All-Stars in preparation for the upcoming 2012 Cooperstown Baseball.

Lately, it seems like not a single mail day goes by around these parts without at least a few history-filled arrivals from the greatest All-Stars of all time. Reggie JacksonNolan Ryan. Carlton Fisk. Paul Molitor. Dave Winfield. Andre Dawson. Tony Perez. Frank Rabinson. Jim Palmer. Steve Carlton. Carl Yastrzemski. Those legends — as well as other timeless greats — have all returned their beautiful on-card autographs for the Cooperstown Signatures insert in recent weeks.

But they’re far from alone. Other Hall of Fame history-makers with All-Star ties — such as broadcasters Jon Miller, Tony Kubek, Joe Garagiola and Bob Wolff — have returned their signed stunners, too. So in honor of tonight’s All-Star Game, we figured now was as good a time as any to showcase 39 dazzling examples of what you can expect when 2012 Cooperstown Baseball releases early next month.

Stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional pre-release coverage of Cooperstown. And check out our coverage so far by clicking the links below:

I love these …are the cards that depict the athletes from their playing days short-prints, perchance? Are there any SP’s in the product? Nicely done.

I am interested to know what a retail box break will look like. Price point for each box and if there will be hobby or retail exclusives.

This is a super nice, and clean set!! I would love to chase it, esp for the Nolan Ryan, Sandberg, O.Smith and Reggie Jackson. All of them are nice. Whats the box breakdown on this Cooperstown stuff. 100 or more a box, and how many autos/relics? Like the styley look of it, very classy!

Glad you like it, Jon. Thanks for the kind words. Cooperstown will retail for $3.99 per pack and will include at least one autograph per box.

Hey Tracy, my names Michael and I’ve had a blog on hockey cards since November 2010. I’ve loved the products Panini has put out over the past 2 seasons in hockey and I would be honoured to become part of that blog roll you have on the right hand side. Please check out my blog and tell me what you think!

Appreciate the kind words, Michael. Nice work on your blog — pretty entertaining, pretty opinionated. I’ve added you to our blog roll. Keep up the good work.

Haha you could probably tell I wasn’t a huge fan of contenders BUT from the other products I bought such us Crown Royale, Elite, Score (best low end product on the market) and Certified I say you’ve been doing a better job compared to the competition. I also like how you’re using Rookie Anthology to update all your sets, I’ll be buying a box of that soon.
