Between Some Brocks and a Card Place: The Panini America Collector Confessional

September 30, 2012

As the Hobby Marketing Manager for Panini America, I’m duty-bound — and quite honored — to bring you behind the scenes here; to inform and engage and entertain regarding anything and everything that takes place inside this hobby heaven on earth.

But not today. Today is Sunday. Today, I’m a Denver Broncos fan — and the following sneak peeks are decidedly one-sided.

One of my favorite things to do on many days at Panini America is to run back to the massive memorabilia vault to find out what new autographs have come in recently. On Friday afternoon, that trip was even sweeter than usual — at least for me — thanks to the bountiful batch of Brock Osweilers that arrived for the upcoming 2012 Prime Signatures Football.

Talk about being stuck between some Brocks and a card place.

Normally, Osweiler’s autographs would be among many that I’d preview in a larger multi-player gallery showing off Prime Signatures’ impressive penmanship. But since Osweiler, the Denver Broncos’ mountainous 6-7 skyscraper of a quarterback, was one of my favorite players to talk to during last May’s 2012 NFLPA Rookie Premiere, and since I can be something of a Broncos homer, I decided to dedicate this special Sunday gallery to him and him alone.

Osweiler is fond of encouraging those he meets to “LYL” (Leave Your Legacy), and his Rookie Card legacy will be remembered by the bold series of sweeping loops that constitute his autograph. It’s a unique signature that makes his Prime Signatures cards — easily some of the most impressively designed RCs of 2012 — even more attractive.

So please indulge me as I share the following images, a decidedly Denver gallery that should help those collecting members of Broncos Nation — like me — gear up for Denver’s Week 4 matchup against the rival Oakland Raiders.

Even if Osweiler doesn’t see much action this afternoon while backing up Peyton Manning, we can take solace in knowing that his top-notch autograph cards from 2012 Prime Signatures made a huge impact. At least they did on me.

loved the 2011 prime signatures and can not wait for this year’s release, card design is better than any other series including national treasures, to bad all the auto’s were not on card, would have really backed the name “prime signatures” besides that….awsome

Beautiful autograph. I need to scramble and grab some of his autographs now before he develops writer’s cramp later on this year!

That NFL shield is DA BOMB! As a fellow Broncos fan, Tracy, I only have one thing to say: It will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine…

How about giving away a sample for product awareness? I’ll be like your Junior Marketing Assistant and show it to everyone’s I know.
