Hardcore hockey collectors not-so-patiently awaiting next week’s hobby release of 2013-14 Contenders Hockey can take solace in this: The retail-exclusive, 20-card hanger boxes have already arrived in many retail locations — and they’re packing a retail-only list of autographs to boot.
The checklist of the 2013-14 Contenders Hockey’s retail autographs includes 60 total cards, including 35 Rookie Ticket Autographs and 25 NHL Ink, each featuring Gold (#’d to 100) and Black (#’d to only one) parallel versions. The retail-only autographs from both subsets will not appear in the hobby release, which arrives next Wednesday. Players with Rookie Ticket Autographs in retail will be featured on unsigned Rookie Tickets in hobby.

One thing to note about the breakdown of 2013-14 Contenders Hockey autographs: The retail-only autos (with the exception of those included as redemptions), will be sticker autographs. On the hobby side, all autographs (with the exception of the multi-autograph cards) will be on-card.
We’ve provided a quick sneak peek at some of the retail-exclusive autographs in the gallery that follows. Each 20-card retail hanger of 2013-14 Contenders Hockey will deliver two autographs. Before you check out the gallery, here’s a link to the checklist of retail-exclusive autographs:

  1. Sweet. Finaly. Just wonder when Prime and NT will come. that will be after last june. Isn’t that after the deal with NHL goes out? Looking forward to the best hockeycards ever made.
Check out my instagram. always do my best to promote Panini.

  2. So, if I read correctly above, the redemption cards are for on-card autos and not sticker based ones?
So, it means #181 Sami Vatanen & #224 Darcy Kuemper auto’s will be on-card and not in the form of a sticker? Reason I’m asking is I just bought two boxes @ my local Target and pulled redemption cards for both of those players.
Just looking for a little clarification here. 🙂
