Panini America Offers 40-Card First Look at 2013 Elite Football’s Top Rookie Cards

July 5, 2013

2013 Elite Football Smith

Next Wednesday, a revamped 2013 Elite Football will greet football collectors across the country packing an abundance of whiz-bang technological twists and a new-look Rookie Card design unlike any the venerable brand has offered in quite some time. Todaywe’re going to preview that design by showcasing the RCs of the 40 players who attended the 2013 NFLPA Rookie Premiere in May.

The cards remain on the Elite brand’s trademark foilboard card stock, but the improved design in concert with that foil stock gives the cards a completely new look and feel that’s just more, well, elite.

Base versions of these RCs will be numbered to between 699 and 999 on the front of the card. Enjoy this first look and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance in the coming days for additional coverage of 2013 Elite Football. Tomorrow we’ll examine the way-cool, laser-cut Portraits insert; on Monday we’ll deliver a must-see QC gallery.

Why do you need foilboard for these? They’d look so much better with just a glossy coating.

Loved that there is an rc etched on it.
Hopefully basketball will do the same especially with the double class.
And not only that. Not everyone even me with a basketball MD. Would remember
Years and years from now is that an rc?
Anyway always a cool football product.
Always better per say, im jelous.
But that is two thumbs up!!!

Solid looking insert set, I’ll bet they will look even better with autographs on them. Will there be similarly designed rookie cards for the players who did not attend the 2013 NFLPA Rookie Premiere as well? Thanks Tracy!

Why is It that card companies keep throwing late round picks into the fray when it comes to RPAs and Top Rookie cards (being a 5th, 6th, 7th round pick doesnt deem them to be a Top Rookie) just because they are players that handle the ball, instead just doing all the first round picks. As a Ravens fan or any fan of a team that actually does something good in the NFL they dont always get the chance to grab the big name talents but still love to collect cards from the players that their team has drafted.

So what if its a Lineman or a Safety or a Tackle, give us an RPA or Decent rookie card of them instead of just some simple auto insert that looks shameful next to the “Top Rookies.” If they were picked in the first round that player deserves to have a top rookie card or an RPA and I believe that the team collectors deserve the same.
