Gallery: What Panini America Discovered in Three 2012-13 Flawless Briefcases

October 22, 2013

Flawless Briefcase

I wouldn’t be lying if I told you that my hands are shaking just a little as they tap the letters on this keyboard. Frankly, I’m still a little nervous about the opportunity I had during packout for 2012-13 Flawless Basketball — quite possibly the most anticipated release in trading card history — to inspect the contents of three briefcases of the Panini America product with a big price tag and even better expectations.

By now, the product needs no more introduction or hype. The previews have been delivered. The video trailer has been delivered. All that’s left now is for the product to be delivered — and to deliver. That process begins Friday.

With that in mind, the time has come for us to cease with the previews and show you what’s inside. The following three briefcases were selected at random during the packout process for the express purpose of showing collectors what to expect. They were opened with white gloves, photographed and returned to their briefcase to be sealed and placed into production.

What you won’t see in the gallery that follows are the all 1/1 Flawless Briefcase or the all 5/5 Flawless Briefcase. Yes, one of each exists.

Without further ado, we present our three-briefcase break of 2012-13 Flawless Basketball. Enjoy . . .

Nope. Those were packed out just like that.

      Hi Rocketfan86,

I did a count of autographs from a Flawless Checklist at the Atlanta Sports site. Flawless has the following autograph breakdown: Kyrie 493, Kobe 509, Durant 515, Grant Hill 386, Anthony Davis 422, Blake Griffin 377, Anfernee 242, Dr. J 241, David Robinson 254, Olajuwon 249, Larry Bird 239, Magic 129, Bill Russell 160, Lillard 97 and more HUGE names. The DIAMOND and EMERALD RCs will also be HUGE HITS.

Based on all these HUGE HITS, looks like the average box will have an average of 3 HUGE HITS per box.

Nice looking stuff! But unfortunate for those of us shelling out a ridiculous amount of money for boxes/cases since 2 Damian Lillards, 2 Kobes, and a sick Lebron patch have already been pulled in a very short printed product.

I like the Hakeem double sig.

Did he realize his mistake, or did Panini have to re-send it to him to get it done correctly. Follow up, did he do it for all 10?

Blown away doesn’t begin to describe it, this is easily the most impressive product I’ve ever seen. Congrats to everyone who had a hand in making this and all the lucky collectors who get to enjoy breaking the product. Simply stunning. Thanks Tracy!

      October 22, 2013 9:07 pm

I’m sure panini already sent some product out, but dealers are not allowed to sell until friday. Even so, some dealers disregard this policy and sell early. Just my two cents.

  20. October 22, 2013 6:52 pm

The product looks great. Hope the teams are better represented… Looks like it could be painful if you are in a pick your team break…

I’m not a huge basketball card collector but this has some of the nicest cards I’ve seen in a while with all the stars from the past and present in there, a very nice product. I would be so proud to have any of those in my collection.

I agree, this is a solid value! Would have liked to have Logoman in it, but all in all seems like the value is definitely there. I love the fact that there are zero redemptions in this. I did also notice that some people are getting their boxes already!? Tracy, any way to stop singles from going live on ebay before Friday? thx!

Just one time, in my case breaks… Just one time! That Lebron is just sick, and same with a lot of the others. I bet the brief case fetches over a 100 bucks on ebay “empty”.. Im hard at work bulking up the paypal as we speak,, for these crazy next two weeks. Panini you do some really great things, and when Im broke I hope Im smiling at some new beauty’s. Tracy when is part two of the Transporting of Flawless video coming out? You could get a Emmy award for you dramatic scene in the first video, you guys have to follow it up with a hard ending. Stuff is great, but you already know this, Hats off to the B-ball team, you guys smashed it this year. It ain’t over yet either, still have Immaculate!!

One presell site has “- At least 7 autographs per box including at least one dual auto/memorabilia” I take it that does not mean two players on one card? Looks like it means dual memorabilia auto card? Looks pretty nice so far!
