The Panini America Quality Control Gallery: 2013-14 Totally Certified Basketball

November 21, 2013

Panini America 2013-14 Totally Certified Basketball QC Main

This time next week, the newest iteration of one of hoops collecting’s favorite products returns with the release of Panini America’s 2013-14 Totally Certified Basketball, giving collectors across the country one more thing for which they can be thankful for. The mere mention of “Totally Certified” instantly conjures up images of multicolored, microetched marvels; the Blues, the Reds, the Greens, the Golds and the Blacks that have become the product’s calling cards.

But 2013-14 Totally Certified Basketball is about much more than unparalleled parallels. This year, the Panini America Product Development team has incorporated a smidgen of acetate, new designs and some bold new checklist additions. The result, as you’ll see in the comprehensive Quality Control Gallery that follows, is a product that fits nicely on the path blazed by Totally Certified releases of the past.

Enjoy the images and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional coverage of 2013-14 Totally Certified Basketball in the coming days.

I like the base card design and I really like that you guys kept patch/mem cards in Totally Certified Basketball this year.

I DO NOT like that all the rookies are sticker autos this year! Last year’s on card autos really made this product great. I also don’t like the inclusion of acetate; it’s a little too gimmicky/cheap.

I understand why we have sticker autos..but not sure why last years were on card and this year is sticker, for the same MSRP.

Forgot to mention I love the idea of the “Throwback” patches. I know that collectors that collect certain players will enjoy that.

Really nice cards, i guess it will be one of the more popular product again.
But maybe it is just my opinion, but the acetate cards looks like they are not belonging to the Totally Certified cards, nothing wrong with those cards, they just looks so much different, than the other cards. (It is just a small detail, but o personally prefer to have the serial number on the front side of the card.)

Great looking cards! Nufex!!! Tracy, Will we see more nufex for Hockey in the future (hopefully some pinnacle again)? Did a great job on these cards, but as I said of the 2010 Zenith, Should not put nufex in the face, these on the other hand looks great! Hope you can refine the tecnology further, but do not use it TO much or it might go inflation in them 😉
