Even as the collecting world awaits next week’s release of 2013-14 Flawless Basketball, the highly anticipated final release of the 2013-14 NBA collecting season, Panini America officials also have one eye firmly fixed on the bright prospects of the 2014-15 NBA collecting season. And as has become tradition, the product that will tip things off — in a big way — is traditional favorite NBA Hoops Basketball.

2014-15 NBA Hoops Basketball is slated to arrive in hobby shops on October 15 and will feature a revamped box configuration (12 cards per pack, 24 packs per box) that delivers two autographs (including one autograph from a member of the vaunted 2014 NBA Draft Class), one memorabilia card, 36 Rookie Cards and 72 inserts or parallels (including 10 numbered cards).

Other highlights of 2014-15 NBA Hoops Basketball include . . .

  • The highly anticipated first NBA-licensed Rookie Cards of the heralded 2014 NBA Draft Class.
  • Upgraded parallel versions of the base set including Gold, Green and Artist Proofs (numbered to 99).
  • A comprehensive Road to the Finals chase that features cards honoring all 89 games of the 2014 NBA Playoffs and individual tributes to the world champion San Antonio Spurs.
  • The debut of the NBA Hoops Red Hot Signatures autograph insert featuring signature cards numbered to just 25.
  • 2014-15 NBA Hoops commemorates some of the biggest moments of the 2013-14 season in the ultra-rare
Highlights insert, including Carmelo Anthony’s 62-point game.
  • Find the top freshmen of the 2014 Rookie Class in the classic Kobe’s All-Rookie Team insert.

How big is the base set? Are there coach cards?

Would like to know the answer to that second question, too. Have almost the entire 2012-13 Hoops coaches “set” (subset? whatever) signed. Think I’m down to 6 or 7 left. Would like to start on a new one!

Yes! Excited for the new season, and the cards for the new season. Really liking the white border on the base cards. Can’t explain why. Just do.

Also, did I read this correctly that Flawless is coming out September 24th and not October 1st????

I had some of the original Michael Jordan cards out at a recent tag sale and EVERY ONE sold! Hoops has an underrated staying power in this hobby, this year’s set looks excellent. Thanks Tracy!

Imagine that….a set of cards showing players on a court playing basketball….what a novel concept !! I started to believe that the game was played on shiny silver backgrounds.

I got out of collecting basketball when Charlotte lost the Hornets. Now that they are back, this city is BUZZIN! Will their be any special cards for the first season back? Will their be hornets in their uniforms in this product?
