Panini America 2015 Rookies & Stars Football QC3

If you were paying close enough attention to the Panini America Twitter feed last week, you no doubt were a firsthand witness to the packout process for the upcoming 2015 Rookies & Stars Football, the company’s Target-exclusive NFL release that’s on its way to stores as you read this. In addition to being a retail-only release this season, the venerable Rookies & Stars Football brand includes new packaging, new inserts, a new base design, new technology, a new configuration and, well, just a little bit of nostalgia from the brand’s proud past.

2015 Rookies & Stars Football is set to arrive in participating Target stores beginning next week, and each six-pack box will deliver five autograph or memorabilia cards and one Longevity Rookies & Stars Embroidered Patch card. Longtime fans of the Rookies & Stars Franchise will appreciate the inclusion of the product’s Longevity elements and the fan-favorite Crusade chase.

There’s also a deft die-cut presence within 2015 Rookies & Stars Football that serves to breathe new life into the franchise. In the Quality Control Gallery that follows, we showcase some of the many gems that surfaced during last week’s packout process. And just in case you missed any of last week’s live Twitter updates, we’ve provided a few of those highlights . . .

Now, to the gallery . . .

How much will a box cost?

You might want to reconsider Deontay Greenberry as a Cowboys. 2nd preseason game and he is already off the roster.

I really like the cards with the 4 images of the rookies in motion. Always a big fan of Crusade inserts as well. What is the MSRP?

HA! Rookies and Stars. 15 years ago they acctulay picked up a registered trademark owned previously by Pinnacle, they continued with that subset for 7 years. The name? Masks. I think that name is still owned by Panini?

Interesting! What’s the SRP on this?

Will likely vary by location but the premium box is roughly $100, blasters are roughly $20 and rack packs are roughly $5.

$11.99 for 40 card pack/119.00 for 10 pack box with 5 hits/$21.99 per blaster box. Not sure if I will buy this one

Tracy- As a COLLECTOR- not an INVESTOR with a collection of 9.8 million cards, spanning over 53 years, I am very disturbed at the direction that Panini is taking the card industry!
Rookies and Stars was always one of my favorite brands. I could make a “base” set by buying Fat Packs for $4.99 each- getting 40 beautiful cards for my money.
I could care less about jersey cards- and the other multi-color junk that went into the packs. Like I said- I am a set COLLECTOR.
What you are doing now is taking away my ability to affordably collect a base set by offering one very expensive-and only one alternative to collecting.
60 cards with pretty parallels and a lot of worthless jersey swatches removes me-permanently- from Panini products.
I figure that you won’t publish this, but do think about it. Keep in mind, I have a 53 year collection that is one of the best in the country.

Only one configuration, or will there also be gravity feed packs and blasters?

Tremendous preview for the new R&S, the die cuts look excellent and the rookies in motion are a very nice touch. Excellent choice for a feature card too. Thanks Tracy!

    ALWAYS with the foil board…………..Meh……………

    • August 26, 2015 7:27 pm

Spectra is not foilboard. It’s Optichrome (Prizm) technology. It is shiny, though.
