The Panini America Quality Control Gallery: 2015 Spectra Football (129 Sweet Pics)

August 26, 2015

Panini America 2015 Spectra Football QC116

If your PC, Mac or smartphone seemed to display an inordinate amount of vibrant color throughout the day on Monday, there’s a perfectly good explanation: Panini America’s 2015 Spectra Football was packing out at the production facility across town and Football Brand Manager Chris Barr took over the Panini America Twitter account to document the day’s festivities. As a result, collectors watching at home (or at work or at school or in the car) actually had the best seat in the house as Barr’s live Tweets kept the colors coming and the juices flowing.

If you missed any of Monday’s action, Barr offered quite a bit of product information with the rainbow array of images he was delivering. Each box of 2015 Spectra Football (four cards per pack, four packs per box) will yield four autographs (including at least one Rookie Patch Autograph) and seven memorabilia cards (including at least one but possibly up to three Prime or Patch cards).

Each eight-box case of 2015 Spectra Football will deliver at least one on-card Illustrious Legends, Spectra Hall of Fame or Super Bowl Signatures veteran autograph, one Dual Rookie Patch Autograph and a minimum of four parallels numbered to 15 or less. What’s more, the product has zero redemption cards and zero Panini Rewards Points cards.

We brought you a sneak peek at some of Spectra’s impressive hard-signed veteran autograph content recently here on The Knight’s Lance. Below, we showcase some of the shimmering results from Monday’s Quality Control process; but before we get to that, here are just a few of the live Twitter highlights . . .

Now, to the Quality Control Gallery . . .

Paint pen autos are a good idea, but they seem to blend in with the background of the card too much.

While I am a big fan of a lot of the above, I have to say I don’t enjoy the matching ink color to background color when applied to a clear sticker. It muddies the appearance of the autograph, getting lost in the background. If the sticker or design background contrasted the signature more it would showcase the signature more, specifically on the pink dual auto where I didn’t realize at first that it was signed. All in all a solid looking release though, thanks Tracy!
