January 16, 2016

2016 Contenders Draft Picks Football Main

Wally McFootball will likely never play in the NFL, but when it comes to helping preview Panini America’s upcoming 2016 Contenders Draft Picks Football product, the fictional player looks right at home on a Draft Picks Ticket autograph (as you’ll see in the preview gallery that follows).

McFootball’s presence foretells of the many players who will enter the upcoming 2016 NFL Draft with hopes of making their mark at the professional level. And in the March-releasing 2016 Contenders Draft Picks Football, those players will share a robust base and autograph checklist with some of the greatest players in college football history.

The Contenders Draft Picks Football brand made a rousing debut on the market last season as Panini America’s first all-college trading card release. It returns in 2016 with many of the fundamentals that made last season’s product a success, including the industry-favorite Season Tickets and College Tickets, a well-rounded checklist featuring the top NFL prospects and NFL superstars in their college uniforms, and a familiar roster of inserts.

On average, each hobby box of 2016 Contenders Draft Picks Football will deliver five autographs, four Rush Week, four Class Reunion, four Collegiate Connections, four Passing Grades, 48 Game Day Tickets, 24 School Colors and 24 Old School Colors.

  • Other highlights of the product include . . .
  • Dual autographs from college greats in Collegiate Connections Signatures; pairings include Bo Jackson/Frank Thomas, John Elway/Jim Plunkett and Rob Gronkowski/Nick Foles (numbered to five or less).
  • Class Reunion highlights the cream of the crop from today’s NFL in their glory days from college. Adrian Peterson, J.J. Watt, Odell Beckham Jr. and Russell Wilson are among those in the 25-card insert.
  • Chase the top rookie quarterbacks and running backs from the 2016 NFL Draft in Passing Grades, Passing Grades Signatures, Rush Week and Rush Week Signatures.
  • Look for the following hobby exclusives: Bowl Tickets (numbered to 99), Championship Ticket 1/1s, Cracked Ice Tickets (numbered to 23), College Ticket and Season Ticket Printing Plates numbered to only one.

We’ll have plenty more on 2016 Contenders Draft Picks Football in the coming weeks right here on The Knight’s Lance. But for now, enjoy this first extended sneak peek:

Nice. Why not add the known trademark from Pinnacle “Back to School” ? maybe for a future product.

You know what wouldn’t be lazy? Coming up with a new design for this set instead of using the previous year’s contenders design. Just a thought.

Tracy, any chance that Auburn RB Peyton Barber, Florida RB Kelvin Taylor (son of Fred Taylor), and USF TE Sean Price will be in the product on the gameday tickets checklist?
