Panini America 2015-16 Preferred Basketball Main

Panini America’s Preferred Basketball franchise has carved out prominent place in the hearts and personal collections of hardcore hoops hobbyists by annually delivering some of the sport’s most unique (memorabilia booklets) and coveted (Silhouettes) trading cards. For the upcoming 2015-16 edition, that trend will no doubt continue.

Set to arrive in late July, 2015-16 Preferred Basketball will boast a new nothing-but-hits packaging configuration (two cards per pack, two packs per box, eight boxes per case) that guarantees one autograph and one memorabilia booklet in every pack. Every autograph in the product will be signed on-card and will be numbered to 99 or less.

Other highlights of the product include . . .

  • The return of the iconic Silhouettes and Rookie Silhouettes showcasing on-card autographs and jumbo memorabilia pieces. Base versions are limited to 99 copies or less and Prime versions are limited to 25 copies or less.
  • The product’s calling-card speciality memorabilia booklets including 2015 NBA Finals and Stat Line — each featuring game-specific pieces of memorabilia, including Patch version. Look for rare 1/1 versions of the 2015 NBA Finals insert featuring the NBA Finals logo from jersey fronts; Stat Line 1/1s feature jersey tags.
  • Collect the unique 300-card autographed base set composed of Silhouettes, Rookie Silhouettes, Autographs, Crown Royale and Unparalleled.

We’ll have plenty more on 2015-16 Preferred Basketball in the coming weeks right here on The Knight’s Lance. For now, though, enjoy this early preview:

First great cover for the Alpha dog of Panini Basketball. The Always On Card autograph is even more so appealing and making it one of the most favorites to open. That Kobe Silo is just so good to look at…. Wow!!! It’s probably one of the best Panini America Designs of all time. July couldn’t come earlier. #BirthdayMonth

Silhouettes have to be some of the most recognizable and sought after cards in the hobby, great to see they will be making their triumphant return to basketball in the Preferred program. Thanks Tracy!
