Panini America’s fabled Prizm Basketball franchise, the colorful brand that ignited an Optichrome feeding frenzy during the 2012-13 NBA season, is still enthralling collectors all these years later. Next week, the product will mark its landmark fifth anniversary with a robust 2016-17 Prizm Basketball release that delivers on all of the key brand tenets collectors across all sports have come to embrace.

Colorful Prizm parallels. Exciting inserts. Key Rookie Cards. In-demand autographs. Checklists featuring the NBA’s hottest superstars and its most promising newcomers. It’s all vibrantly back on the collecting scene one week from today, and to help get you ready for the highly anticipated release, we have an extensive Quality Control Gallery for your viewing pleasure.

On average, each hobby box of 2016-17 Prizm Basketball (12 cards per pack, 12 packs per box) will deliver two autographs and a whopping 22 Prizms. The product also features the rare Fifth Anniversary Prizm insert featuring cards numbered to just five. Looking better than I thought from the mock ups! Always like Prizm, but I wish the inserts were a bit cooler. They all seem really similar and not worth chasing much. Guess I’m just a sucker for the 90’s style inserts that were really off the wall and different. Either way, great job though I’m not a fan of the entry price point with hobby going exclusively jumbo. I always enjoyed going to the LCS and getting a box for 60-80, but no more 😦 I’ll still crack some boxes I’m sure though 🙂

Another fantastic set! The wave prizms are just spectacular. I have never done a box of nba prizm but I hope to this year. Hope the checklist is as big as it was last year.
