Teaser Gallery: Panini America Breaks Two Early Boxes of 2016-17 Prizm Basketball

November 8, 2016

This time tomorrow, Americans will be welcoming (or not welcoming, depending on your personal leanings) a new President. And while there’s no denying the bitterness of a riveting campaign season that pitted Hillary Clinton vs. Donald Trump, we think we have a platform on which everyone, regardless of party affiliation, can stand: Panini America’s 2016-17 Prizm Basketball.

The colors. The rainbow chase. The Rookie Cards. The autographs. They’re all back for a new season in 2016-17 Prizm Basketball, the Optichrome-enhanced collector favorite that arrives in hobby shops across North America tomorrow in a Hobby Jumbo format featuring 12 packs with 12 cards each. We offered a revealing deep-dive on the product last week with the must-see Quality Control Gallery. Today, we’re taking you pack by pack through two early boxes.

One thing to note as you’re enjoying the imagery that follows: There’s a Lou Williams Prizm parallel numbered to 25 that we pulled in our first box. That particular card features the Prizm 5th Anniversary logo in the background. That’s actually a production issue that impacted card #’s 101-200 only. There’s a base 5th Anniversary parallel (card #’s 1-300) in which all cards are numbered to just five. There’s also a parallel numbered to 25 for card #’s 1-100 and #’s 201-300 all cards in the set. But only card #’s 101-200 have a 5th Anniversary version numbered to 25.

Now . . . to the images . . .

Looks like a fun bust but I’m sorry there is no “RC” emblem on the rookie autos.

They look great, as usual. Glad to see Wayne Ellington show up in his Nets jersey. Don’t think he got any cards last year at all, maybe I just missed them. Hoping Sean kilpatrick has a card this year too. The prizm parallels are some of the nicest cards every year and this year does Not disappoint!
