The Panini America Quality Control Gallery: 2016 Preferred Football (102 Must-See Pics)

December 15, 2016

preferred-main-1

After several seasons of seeing just how passionate basketball collectors are about the Preferred Basketball franchise, Panini America officials finally are giving football fans the preferential treatment. And when 2016 Preferred Football arrives in hobby shops across North America next Wednesday, it will do so in five-card hobby boxes that deliver, on average, four autographs (including one on-card Silhouette) and one memorabilia booklet.

The last time a standalone Preferred Football product was released in 2001, LaDainian Tomlinson, Chad Johnson and Quincy Carter were key Rookie Cards. Fast forward 15 years or so and it’s obvious that time has been very good to the Preferred franchise. Thanks to a torrid track record in the NBA and the continued enhancement of key inserts such as the sublime Silhouettes, Panini’s Choice Die-Cuts and more, Preferred has become the preferred choice for many collectors.

As you’ll see in the revealing Quality Control Gallery that follows, 2016 Preferred Football adopts the most popular aspects of its basketball brother to create a new product that’s as content rich as any you’ll find this season. And it’s worth noting that none other than Dallas Cowboys rookie quarterback Dak Prescott selected the packaging for this product (more on that later).

Check out the imagery for yourself and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for continued coverage.

These are some good looking cards. I’m glad to see football getting the Preferred treatment.

This looks like a very exciting return for Preferred, having the autographed Silhouettes in this product will definitely drive interest to the program. Thanks Tracy!

I also have to suggest to stay way from the black pens! I only like blue ink! The only thing that looked cool was Spectra colored inks.
