Panini America’s Select Football franchise benefits from the same popular technology, many of the same parallel colors and some of the same players as its Optichrome-enhanced Prizm Football family member. But the real allure of Select Football always has been that it still manages to stand on its own merits as a vibrant part of any collecting season. That promises to be the case once again when 2016 Select Football arrives in hobby shops across North America in late February.

This year’s iteration includes a 300-card base set featuring three unique subsets (Concourse, Premier and Field Level) printed in varying degrees of scarcity and each with a unique set of colored parallels to chase. On average, each box (five cards per pack, 12 packs per box) will deliver two autographs, one memorabilia card and 14 Prizm parallels (including at least three numbered).

The highlights of the product are many and include . . .

  • Jumbo memorabilia content honoring the top 2016 NFL rookies, including NFL Shields, Nike Logos, NameplatesLaundry Tags and prime patches.
  • Autograph memorabilia cards of the top 2016 rookies in Rookie Autographed Materials and Jumbo Rookie Signature Swatches numbered to 99 or less.
  • Autograph memorabilia cards featuring more than 50 veterans and retired NFL stars.
  • Find XRCs for the 2017 NFL Rookie Class seeded one per box.
  • Chase autographed memorabilia cards of the 2016 Rookie Class, #’d/99 or less!
  • Find multiple parallel color variations including Copper, Purple, Orange, Tie-Dye, Gold and Black.

We’ll have plenty more on 2016 Select Football in the coming weeks right here on The Knight’s Lance. But until then, enjoy this extended sneak peek:

Nooooo! Do Complete that would be so sweet. There are so many sets with just autos of the same old players. Do at least two or three that have large base sets so we can get updated players please!!!!!!!

Would be cool to see a series like Complete close out the 2016 NFL card season to get all the new player cards, which would lead into 2017.

Then I called back the next day and left a message to ask something else about it and nobody has ever called me back. I’ve sent emails and never got any responses back.
