March 20, 2017

Panini America 2017 Score Football Main

For anxious football collectors, the arrival of the 2017 NFL Draft late next month in Philadelphia can mean only one thing: The 2017 NFL collecting season is so close we can taste it. And once again this season, it will begin in grand fashion with the release of Panini America’s 2017 Score Football on April 26, just one day before the 2017 NFL Draft gets underway.

2017 Score Football’s hobby configuration will deliver a truly jumbo experience that includes 40 cards per pack and 10 packs per every hobby box. On average, each hobby box will deliver four autographs. The product will remain true to its proud roots by delivering a massive checklist that includes 330 veterans and 110 Rookie Cards (the first licensed NFL Rookie Cards of the season) and a plethora of compelling inserts from base to autographs to memorabilia.

The highlights of 2017 Score Football are many and include . . .

  • An average of right Rookie Cards per hobby jumbo pack, on average.
  • Pull five sequentially numbered parallels and 36 insert cards per hobby jumbo box, on average.
  • Rare multi-signed cards in Draft Dual Signatures.
  • Several new inserts including Color Rush, Drive Team and Fantasy Stars.
  • Rare veteran and retired signatures numbered to 25 or less.

We’ll have much more to preview on 2017 Score Football in the coming weeks here on The Knight’s Lance. But for now, enjoy this extended sneak peek (keeping in mind that the 2016 rookies featured in the preview gallery below are merely to show collectors what Score’s various rookie designs will look like):

This is the best looking score set that I can remember seeing in a while. Will there be any Leon Sandcastle cards in this?

Can somebody restore Score to how it was in 2015, with the new rookies with their NFL team logos, not college teams. You have ruined the now longest continuing pro football set, Score has been around since 1989, no one else has this longevity anymore. Please fix it for 2018. I collect them every year for my team, it’s weird having a pro team and a bunch of college cards to make up this years cards. Thanks

    Hi Tracy!
Will Free Agents who signed a few weeks ago have cards showing their new teams?
For example Alshon Jeffery, Pierre Garcon, Calais Campbell, and Tony Jefferson

For as many of the guys as we have a chance to update given production deadlines.

Nice Design – true to the history of Score football – The design works great with Fournette’s Purple and Gold LSU tigers. Thanks for giving the collectors a huge set to collect

One Question will the Score logo be the same color on every card or will it be color coated by team like last year.

Also, Fantasy Stars is a different type of insert.

Good question on the logo. Can’t say that I’ve seen enough of the cards yet to answer you. But keep watching the blog, we’ll have an extended preview as soon as it’s available.

As a long-time lover of Score, it disappoints me to see it will not be the vessel by which NFL collectors are delivered their first copies of the 2017 NFL RC class in their pro uniforms as in year’s past. I was hoping the trend from last year would reverse but instead Score was pushed earlier in the release calendar. I’m honestly not sure if I’ll buy any this year. Thanks Tracy!

A standby in my house. One I have to buy every year. I am tired of 2016 stuff, bring on 2017!

Btw, glad score stuck to the jumbo packs. Those are the best to bust. It’s like digging for treasure!
