Panini America 2016-17 Donruss Optic Basketball QC Gallery1

You can credit 2016 Donruss Baseball with ushering in the Optic era. That was the first time Panini America officials set out to create an all-Optichrome version of the company’s previously released flagship Donruss brand, complete with a rainbow array of parallel possibilities, chase-worthy ink, and key photo updates and checklist additions. So well received was 2016 Donruss Optic Baseball last summer that 2016 Donruss Optic Football followed suit in late December. Next week, Donruss Basketball gets its turn to shine under the Optichrome spotlight.

Set to arrive in hobby shops across North America on Wednesday, 2016-17 Donruss Optic Basketball provides a compelling Donruss-meets-Prizm mashup steeped in the niceties that have worked so well for previous Optic launches. On average, each hobby box of 2016-17 Donruss Optic Basketball (four cards per pack, 20 packs per box) will deliver one autograph card and 20 inserts or parallels. There’s also a vibrant arsenal of retail-exclusive assets permeating Donruss Optic Basketball (more on those later).

In the revealing Quality Control Gallery that follows, we deliver a colorful preview of the product using just some of the goodies that surfaced during the recent packout process. Enjoy the imagery and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for continued coverage.

They look great! I see the new Nets alternate and Warriors throwback which I think are the first time they appear on cards. I see at least a couple rookies who didn’t make the original release as well.

Will there be an Optic for NASCAR?
