Panini America’s 2017-18 Threads Basketball Delivers Game’s Biggest Memorabilia Cards

May 25, 2018

Panini America 2017-18 Threads Basketball QC65

Panini America’s retail-only 2017-18 Threads Basketball is starting to arrive on store shelves right about now (primarily Target locations nationwide) equipped with a unique packaging configuration and, inside each box, a best-kept-secret kind of blockbuster that must be seen to truly be appreciated. Indeed, don’t let the product’s four-cards-per-box breakdown fool you: One card in every box is a 5-by-7 memorabilia card featuring an oversized piece of game-worn or player-worn memorabilia. Better yet, there are rare versions of those cards injected with even bigger pieces of material. The result? The largest memorabilia cards in the industry.

To be sure, the cards provide a sizable addition to the Threads Basketball franchise that should help the new 2017-18 edition resonate with retail-minded collectors. On average, each four-card box of 2017-18 Threads Basketball ($19.99 SRP) delivers three base cards or parallels and the individually wrapped jumbo memorabilia card. The 100-card base set is paralleled by Dazzle (numbered to 199), Dazzle Red (numbered to 99), Dazzle Blue (numbered to 25), Dazzle Gold (numbered to 10) and Dazzle Black 1/1 versions. Clearly, though, it’s the massive memorabilia that should make the largest impact.

One look at the gallery below and you’ll understand why. Boasting a checklist brimming with legends (Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O’Neal, Larry Bird, Grant Hill and more), rookies and current stars, the 2017-18 Threads Basketball memorabilia are absolutely must-see material.

Enjoy the gallery and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for continued coverage.

I found a blaster box at Target. I’m not about to pay $20.00 for 3 card & 1 jumbo memorabilia card.
