Overnight Sensations: Panini America Peeks Donruss Basketball’s Next Day Autographs

August 22, 2018

NBA Next Day Main

We’ve said it before, but it’s worth repeating: Panini America’s unique NBA Rookie Photo Shoot Next Day Autographs are nothing less than minor manufacturing miracles. We were reminded of that fact once again earlier this month during the 2018 NBA Rookie Photo Shoot when, over the course of a few profusely productive days, company officials captured the photography, created the design, printed the cards, delivered them to the players and had them autographed by the time the shoot began on the morning of August 12.

While the players were given a small supply of “Personal Edition” cards for family, friends and to trade amongst themselves, the autographed versions are earmarked specifically for the flagship 2018-19 Donruss Basketball release slated to arrive in early November. But since it’s never too early to start previewing on-card autographs from the upcoming rookie crop, we’re going to showcase the 36-card Next Day Autographs set now.

While most of the Panini America photography captured during the 2018 NBA Rookie Photo Shoot focused on the action side of things, the imagery selected for the Next Day Autographs insert provides an opportunity to get a little closer to the NBA’s future superstars. The on-card autographs, of course, help bring their personalities out just a little bit more.

Enjoy the early look and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for continued coverage of the highly anticipated 2018 NBA Draft class.
