Panini Instant NFL Recap Week 8: Dolphins Splash and Broncos Ride
Written by: Connor Zimmerlee
As the calendar prepared to flip from October to November, the NFL provided another thrilling weekend. Week 8 featured statement victories and plenty of remarkable performances from rookies and established veterans alike. You can add the best of the best to your collection with the latest round of Panini Instant NFL cards.
Kicking things off, the Dolphins hit the road to take on the Falcons. The hostile environment was no match for Tua Tagovailoa and Miami’s high-octane offensive attack. Slicing up the secondary, the southpaw signal-caller threw a quartet of touchdown passes to lead a 34-10 rout. It was his fifth career game with at least four passing scores — only Dan Marino has more in Miami history.
One of his four strikes went to Ollie Gordon II, a first-year playmaker who turned in an impressive outing. He racked up a healthy 66 yards from scrimmage in addition to the second touchdown of his career.
The Dolphins’ duo wasn’t the only tandem to make a mark in a rout. The Colts rode dominant showings from Daniel Jones and Jonathan Taylor to a 38-14 drubbing of the Titans. Both stars proved they belong in the MVP conversation and helped their squad improve to a conference-best 7-1.
Shifting out west, the Broncos extended their league-leading home winning streak to nine games with a 44-24 shellacking of the Cowboys. A pair of rookies powered the victory, starting with Pat Bryant snagging a slick over-the-shoulder touchdown in the corner of the end zone. RJ Harvey joined the fun, becoming the first Denver rookie since Clinton Portis (2002) to post a trio of touchdowns in a game.
These performances are only a glimpse at what was a thrilling week of action, with other standouts including Jordan Love, Mason Taylor, Saquon Barkley and many more. They won’t be forgotten anytime soon, especially with the chance to add their respective Panini Instant NFL cards.
