Panini NIL: Texas Women’s Volleyball Extends Undefeated Start
Written by: Connor Zimmerlee
The Texas Longhorns know a thing or two about dominating the sport of volleyball. One of the sport’s most successful programs, they boast a whopping four NCAA championships — tied with the UCLA Bruins for fourth most.
The group’s last championship came in 2023, when they swept the Nebraska Cornhuskers in dominant fashion to claim a second consecutive title. After coming up just short of a three peat, they returned to the court in 2025 with a vengeance and have been one of the nation’s top teams.
In fact, they and the Cornhuskers are currently the only undefeated teams left. With their latest victory over the LSU Tigers, a clean 3-0 triumph, the Longhorns secured their 11th sweep of the season and improved to 18-0 overall.
A mix of veteran talent and superstar freshmen powered the Longhorns to an utterly dominant campaign so far. Among those with a plethora of experience is senior Emma Halter, who registered a pair of aces against LSU and recorded the 100th of her career.
Outside hitter Cari Spears also flourished in the match with the Tigers, with 16 kills as well as four digs and a block. It was her second straight game with that many kills, which earned her SEC Freshman of the Week honors.
They don’t want to just stop there. With five games left in the regular season, the Longhorns are chasing far bigger goals. More than just a perfect record or a conference championship. The ultimate goal remains the same – finish strong, dominate the NCAA Tournament and hoist the fifth championship in program history.
