A Sneak Peek at 2011-12 Elite Hockey's New Breed and Elite Materials Inserts

My primary goal in venturing across town to the Panini America printing facility yesterday morning was to capture some compelling images from 2011 Prime Cuts Baseball before that product starts packing out next week.

My primary goal in venturing across town to the Panini America printing facility yesterday morning was to capture some compelling images from 2011 Prime Cuts Baseball before that product starts packing out next week.
But I kept getting distracted by a flurry of activity that was taking place on a table just in front of me and to the left, so I knew I had to take a look over there before I departed. So I finished up with my Prime Cuts assignment  and darted over to see what all the fuss was about.

Turns out there were some equally drool-worthy cards from the upcoming 2011-12 Elite Hockey being readied for packout, too. Upon further inspection, these particular beauties were the prime-memorabilia autographed versions of that product’s New Breed and Elite Materials inserts numbered to five.
I know it’s been a while since we last provided some juicy hockey coverage, so I snapped a photo of as many cards as I could get my hands on for the following gallery. We’re sure to have tons more coverage of the packout process for 2011-12 Elite Hockey next week.
But until then, sit back and enjoy the sheer beauty of your next few minutes . . .

  1. Wow Tracy, that is one heck of a gallery. Can’t wait to rip a few boxes of this stuff. Will we see more Private Signings in this product too?

  2. Wow Tracy! I must say the design team did a great job with these. Please let them know this. I really like the new breeds. Sweet patches. Elite is exactly what it says….an Elite Brand.
And as always thanks for sharing these images. Another job well done with that too.

  3. Awesome New York Rangers patches…Gaborik especially…waiting on Hagelin Tracy…dont be shy…! GO RANGERS – All The Way – Best team in Hockey ! ! !

  4. Man that Malkin card looks great! Love the Neal to! There isnt to many James Neal patch cards in Pens uni yet. Elite football was one of my favs and if hockey is like that, Im sure they’ll be great!

  5. Please send all Flyer cards to me!!!! What a design! The only way you could top this is by having a whole patch.

    1. I respectfully disagree that sticker autographs kill all the value. We’re in 100 percent agreement with collectors that given the choice, we’d take on-card autographs every time. And we continue striving to get more and more hard-signed cards in all of our products. We will continue that goal. But sticker autographs help us in getting live autographs into products. The value is sure to be there with these, but we’ll see when the product releases and the cards start selling.
As always, we appreciate the feedback.

  6. Awesome design and the patches are so sick! Tracy, just a heads up before they get packed out, the Matt Read autograph sticker is upside down.

      1. Looking at it the pictures again, the Jonathan Blum sticker is upside down too…sorry to point it out, i just dont want a fellow collector to be dissapointed if he pulls it!

  7. Very nice stuff there, those patches are amazing. Even had a co-worker stop behind me and drool over the Malkin since he’s a huge Pens fan…may have converted someone into a card collector.
