Andrew Luck, RG III Take Starring Roles in Panini America’s Version of “Black Sunday”

Hollywood's version of "Black Sunday" released way back in the spring of 1977, a dramatic thriller detailing the fictional account of an elaborate terrorist plot at the Super Bowl. Panini America's version of Black Sunday, however, is a star-studded and stunning true story, an absolutely riveting preview of the most anticipated on-card autograph arrivals of the 2012 NFL season to date.

Hollywood’s version of “Black Sunday” released way back in the spring of 1977, a dramatic thriller detailing the fictional account of an elaborate terrorist plot at the Super Bowl. Panini America’s version of Black Sunday, however, is a star-studded and stunning true story, an absolutely riveting preview of the most anticipated on-card autograph arrivals of the 2012 NFL season to date.

The stars in today’s production: Stud rookie quarterbacks Andrew Luck of the Indianapolis Colts and Robert Griffin III of the Washington Redskins. The setting? Panini America’s upcoming 2012 Black Football and 2012 Absolute Football releases. The results? Pure box-office magic.

A quick synopsis of our presentation: Luck and Griffin, as reliable and efficient at signing they’re on-card autographs for Panini America as they are at making plays on Sundays, returned their signed and soon-to-be coveted autographs for Black and Absolute earlier this week. We simply couldn’t wait to show them to you.

So what follows is a tantalizing preview of these gems, a captivating ensemble of collection-making cards that’s as must-see as anything Hollywood’s ever produced. Enjoy.

  1. Those are stunning cards! The patches especially! And the gold ink is a great add!
What I’d do to get ahold of those cards… lol

  2. Those gold signatures on black with the prime patches looks sick!
    Very nice!
Hopefully we get like these in basketball.
    I’m hoping Tracy.

  3. EPIC gallery of the big hits from future releases, simply stunning array of autographs and prime memorabilia! Thanks Tracy!

  4. Very nice, almost felt the need to put on my sunglasses looking at these pictures the finish on those premiere materials is just fantastic! The gold autographs on the black background is phenomenal as well.

  5. The quality of these cards are amazing! Definitely going to try buying a box and hope for some nice hits. Can’t wait for the Panini Unwrapped for both products.

  6. Magnificent cards! Of course, I’m looking at them in the dark as I still don’t have power but I DO have my iPhone…and the promise of a 100 car-long gas-line here in scenic Teaneck, NJ. And this is why I love me some Panini. Wrapping my head around the prospect of trying to acquire a box of Black when normalcy is restored to my part of the world.
Thanks Tracy, you brightened a dark, literally, night.

      1. Tracy… Events such as this demand that we engage ourselves, and our minds, in things other than the awful circumstances that have befallen us. Sports and sports card collecting are great recreation for me. Sifting through my cards, flipping through the nifty inserts, checking out the patches and autos…these are all pleasant distractions and man, Tracy… I need distractions righ’ now bro. That the Panini website is a larger community & I can look back at product previews, box breaks, and laugh at things like your “That box is a barrel of monkeys!” comment with regard to the Threads Hoops product… priceless Tracy. There’s a whole world out there, not merely my no gas, no power, no Internet, no phone, no TV, no nothing area. This is part of what makes this site so special. 🙂
        ‘Nuff said brother.

  7. PHENOMANAL!!!!! Black looks like it will be product of the year!!!!! I Absolutley love it!!! Absolute looks Amazing too!! Which one comes out first Tracy?

  8. Those are some sick cards! I’m from Indy so I’ll go with the Andrew Luck cards! Panini you guys always put out great product & would love to own any of those Luck card!! 😉

  9. Whhoooa! Eye-candy!! These issues are tantamount to artwork! The over-size swatches are simply magnificent!
And, thanks to “The Knight’s Lance,” collectors now have a much greater understanding as to the attention to detail and dedication to craft that go into such releases.
With Luck (and I refer to good fortune, not the Indy’ QB), I will have electricity back by Tues. and my “Black Friday” will be much brighter!!!
    Outstanding job, Panini!!
