2014 Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week Week 7 Winner Watkins

Voters on NFL.com have made their choice. Wide receiver Sammy Watkins of the Buffalo Bills is the Week 7 2014 Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week for games played October 16-20, the NFL announced today. Watkins had nine catches for 122 receiving yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winning touchdown catch with one second remaining in the Bills’ 17-16 win over the Minnesota Vikings.

Watkins was selected from among five finalists through fan votes on NFL.com. The other Week 7 finalists were Jacksonville Jaguars LB Telvin SmithSt. Louis Rams RB Tre Mason, New York Giants WR Odell Beckham, Jr. and Washington Redskins CB Bashaud Breeland.

After the regular season, five players will be nominated for 2014 Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year honors. In conjunction with the 2014 Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week promotion, Panini America produces virtual trading cards of each week’s five nominees and a virtual card for each week’s winner.
