Call it the “Product Heard ‘Round the World.” Panini America on Thursday announced that it will be producing a standalone Prizm product devoted to 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, a development that effectively takes one of the company’s most popular technologies global while creating a compelling product sure to be coveted by an international audience.

Boasting an autograph checklist that will easily go down as one of the greatest ever assembled for a soccer release, Panini America’s 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil Prizm set includes signatures from the likes of Lionel MessiPelé, Cristiano Ronaldo, Robin van Persie, Clint Dempsey, Tim Howard, Jozy Altidore, Ruud Gullit and many more. Set to release in late April, each box of the product (six cards per pack, 24 packs per box) will deliver eight Prizm inserts (featuring a new array of regionally inspired color combinations) and five insert cards.

In addition to the list of signing stars mentioned above, some of the other confirmed signers for the set include: Frank Lampard, Mesut Özil, Xavi Hernández, Andrea Pirlo, Radamel Falcao, Ronaldo (Brazil), Didier Drogba, Jürgen Klinsmann, Carlos Valderrama, Franz Beckenbauer, Steven Gerrard, Luis Suárez and 30 additional current and retired stars.

The debut release is chock full of history-making soccer cards. Some of the highlights . . .

  • Prizm presents one of the best signature checklists in soccer history featuring base versions, Prizm Signatures (numbered to 25 or less) and Black Prizm Signatures 1/1s.
  • Combo Signatures presents high-profile and highly sought after autograph pairings. These cards are all numbered to 10 or less and include a Prizm parallel version.
  • World Cup Matchups features some of the most intriguing on-pitch pairings in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, both in group play and potential knock-out round matches.
  • World Cup Matchups (as well as all other base and insert parallels) feature several regionally inspired Prizm parallels including Red, White and Blue Prizms, Yellow and Red Prizms, and Blue and Red Prizms.
  • The set also features Blue Prizms (numbered to 199 or less), Red Prizms (numbered to 149 or less), Purple Prizms (numbered to 99 or less), Green Crystal Prizms (numbered to 25 or less), Gold Prizms (numbered to 25 or less), Gold Power Prizms (numbered to five or less) and Black Prizm 1/1s.
  • World Cup Stars chronicles the best performances from past tournaments as well as impact players who will make their appearance in this year’s event.
  • Lovable and kid-friendly, Fuleco, the 2014 FIFA World Cup mascot, makes an appearance as a super short-printed insert (two per case, on average).
  • The Team Photo insert includes a Team Photo for each of the 32 teams participating in 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil.

The product features a 200-card base set featuring players from all 32 teams qualified to participate in the 2014 FIFA World Cup. 1. Nice to see these Countries allowing Panini to use their logos!!! 😉 Seriously though, these look really nice. Love the colors!

  2. Love the idea. How hard are the autographs to get though? Makes it sound like it’s not 1 per box and paying $100+ for a box without any guaranteed hits will hurt.

  3. I think they will not be less then $100 a box for sure and autos that’s a tough one! Just imagine opening a pack of a Messi or Ronaldo or even better Pele

I just like that Panini is bringing great products to the US and this is awesome

  4. OMG, okay these are awesome. As a Tottenham Hotspur I want a Klinsmann auto. Are there any English soccer legends in the product? Can`t wait for the release.

  5. Wowza this stuff is absolutely disgusting ( in a good way ) I’ve been waiting for this for as long as I’ve been a soccer fan which has been forever. Thank you panini for bringing this to life. Well there goes the 2nd mortgage on my house. I will defiantly get my hands on this stuff. Hope it won’t be to hard to find up in Canada.

    1. Hi: Do you know where can i find the fifa world cup brasil 2014 panini stickers in Canada? I am Mexican and I am moving to Vancouver next week, I have collected the albums since the world cup in 1990, I am afraid this time i wont be able to complete it
      Thanks for any inforormation

  6. This looks to be the best World Cup release ever, probably the best football release ever. Any idea when the full auto checklist will be released?

  7. This is what I’m waiting for to buy something on the WC14, no teddy bear, caps or t-shirts, cards is the way to go. Doesn’t take place in the house and in 2034 WC, I’m gonna take a box to show to my little kids who’s this old man 20 years ago when they gonna see Messi, CR7 and all the others. Nice work.

  8. YES, this is awesome that finally World Cup players have cards and autos. Hoping that there are more German Player autos like Klose, Podolski, Ballack, Schweinsteiger
    🙂

  9. omg this is huge some people dont know but panini is a pioneer in soccer album stickers, now with cards this is awesome,i never missed a world cup album sicker since i was 4 years old boy,!!!cant wait for cards

  10. As far we know Panini is not saying there will be guaranteed one autograph per box. And with boxes retailing for well over 125 bucks where is the incentive to buy a box which might not have any autographs at all?

Normally a box of cards will go for 50 – 80 bucks. To charge double that for no memorabilia or autographs per box isn’t very good marketing. In fact it’s rather insulting to the fans.

Sure there are some great cards in this collection but let’s give the fans a little something in every box for their hard earned cash after we part with it!

  11. This product looks fantastic and I definitely wanna pick up a couple of boxes but would like to know the final checklist first.

Any chance we could get the official checklist?

  12. Does anyone know if there is a collector album available like the UEFA and Road to brazil albums? My 10 yr old has spent all his Christmas and birthday money buying these cards for the last 4 years. I was very excited to get him a box for his bday but am worried he will not have a place to store them or the checklist so he can obsess about the cards he hasnt received yet:)
