Panini America’s ballyhooed Black Boxes slated for distribution during next week’s 2011 Industry Summit just got a whole lot cooler.

To help celebrate the highly anticipated May launch of Panini Authentic, the company announced on Friday that inserted into three of those boxes will be instant-win cards good for autographed pairs of shoes from exclusive spokesmen Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant and John Wall.

The shoes, signature models of Bryant’s Nike Zoom VI, Durant’s Nike Zoom III and Wall’s Reebok Zig Tech, will be awarded on site in Las Vegas and are sure to generate additional interest in the Panini Authentic business that opens to the public in May.

“We’ve put in a tremendous amount of work over the last 18 months to ensure we build Panini Authentic the right way,” says Brian Bayne, Panini America’s Memorabilia Business Manager. “We’re thrilled to share just a glimpse of the great things to come with those decision makers at the Industry Summit who will help make this launch as successful as possible.”

Company officials have conducted several private signings with all three of their superstar NBA spokesmen in recent months, acquiring their highly desirable penmanship on scarce-edition basketballs, exclusive lithographs and photographs, and the aforementioned sneakers, which will range in price from $249.99 to $649.99.

Stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for complete coverage of next week’s Industry Summit and for additional updates on the Panini Authentic launch.

  1. Wow! I was going to “The Summit” just for the fine company. I look forward to working with Tracy Hackler on our assigned “Solution Session.” And, I can’t wait to participate in other meaningful discussions. I really feel this hobby is quickly moving in the right direction and will soon be better than ever. Panini is a leader in making this happen. The Black Box is going to be a real treat. I can’t wait.

  2. Can’t wait to meet the fine folks at Panini. This is just an added bonus. I wonder if there will be any players there that I can pester for autographs.

  3. I would love to go to this, not just for the extras… (though, they seem VERY nice…) but it would be so awesome to get to talk to everyone and find out whats new and up & coming. Now that Wall, Kobe, and Durant will be there, I just couldn’t imagine a better way to spend an afternoon. Since I can’t be there.. I guess will hope to see all kinds of pictures and read all about it here on The Knight’s Lance.

  4. It would be nice if you guys would focus on getting redemption cards sent out to your loyal customers as well.

  5. Hi, I made a comment on the golden ticket blog, but unfortunetely didn’t win one of those awesome bradford contender auto’s. The lucky winners were deserving and made some great and seemingly well thought out and genuine comments, so CONGRATS. However, being a HUGE basketball fan, perhaps Mr.Hackler will continue the trend and award a loyal Panini fan one of those amazing auto’s shoes for making a comment on this blog? I’m aloud to dream arent I… My gosh, I cant stop starring at those bad boys. I don’t know anything about it or have any way to attend this summit, but I’d love to take a few days off from work to attend. Sheesh, I’d give my Kobe Bryant championship materials auto redemption that I just pulled out of a box of Timeless Treasures for any of those shoes(Kobe preferred)lol. I know that those special shoes will go to important industry people and the closest I will get t owning one will be those pics, but you guys at Panini are doing something right, cause I’m hooked, winning a pair of shoes or not! Plus, I enjoy being able to share my comments and opinions on the various Panini blogs. Thanks for making the hobby interesting again and giving hope to a “financially” average joe like myself…Enoy the Summit!!!

    1. Thanks for the kind words, Jonathan. Your comments are appreciated. Don’t be surprised if I pry away a few pairs of shoes from the Panini Authentic folks to give away to our loyal blog readers.

  6. Yes I would miss this Summit for the world. In 3 years I will have been in business 50 years, and if I win anything I am going to use those items for my 50th Anniversary raffle and make my celebration memorable to all my past and present customers. I hope the manufacturers help me advertise this event. It will be a GREAT MILESTONE for me and for The hobby and I hope I live long enough to really do it BIG in 2014. I am going to give away my new business coin to all dealers and presenters. It looks like the first American LARGE cent – 1793 with my business info on one side. A small treasure to charish. wait until you see it Monday at gathering of dealers. Yes my businessCARD in coin form. A first perhaps?

  8. HAY YOU GOT IT WRONG. KOBY ETC. WILL NOT COME IN PERSON TO SUMMIT, BUT THEIR SHOES WILL. YOU CANNOT TAKE EVERYTHING SAID TO BE TRUE, BUT SHOES ARE OK ESPECIALLY IF SIGNED AND CERTIFIED! BE NICE, APPRECIATE WHAT THESE NEW COMPANY’S ARE DOING FOR US DEALERS. I STARTED VERY POOR AND BUILT MY STORE ON CURTESY (CAN’T SPELL) AND HONESTY.BUT ABOVE ALL KEEPING EVERYTHING REAL…NEIL

  9. These Shoes are amazing. I would be so stoked to receive a pair of Durant’s Shoes. Are there going to be any redemptions in any future products for a pair of these shoes or are they only available via the Panini Authentic Store?
