Certified Heat: Panini America Breaks Some 2013 Certified Football Hot Boxes (Gallery)

Now that Panini America's 2013 Certified Football has been live for a few weeks, we thought we'd take an opportunity on this rainy Saturday in North Texas to explore the contents of two Hot Boxes. Each eight-box inner case of 2013 Certified Football delivers one Hot Box in which all base cards are replaced with special Platinum parallel versions, including Greens numbered to just five and Golds numbered to 25.

Now that Panini America’s 2013 Certified Football has been live for a few weeks, we thought we’d take an opportunity on this rainy Saturday in North Texas to explore the contents of two Hot Boxes. Each eight-box inner case of 2013 Certified Football delivers one Hot Box in which all base cards are replaced with special Platinum parallel versions, including Greens numbered to just five and Golds numbered to 25.

Although both regular boxes and Hot Boxes share many inserts (such as Freshman Fabrics, Mirror parallels, Immortals and New Generation RCs), it’s the Platinum parallel lineup exclusive to Hot Boxes that really makes them pop. To give collectors a better idea of what to expect, the following gallery provides a pack-by-pack breakdown of two Hot Boxes. Enjoy.

  1. Man, the hot box element only adds to the enjoyment of breaking a box of… ANYTHING! Ironically, I’m midway through a box of Certified & thought it interesting that I pulled a pair of Gold RC parallels /25, which i thought were really well designed, as well as another pair of low numbered Immortals cards. By golly, my LHS sold me a hot-box!
    Thanks for the gallery, THack!

  2. Tracy, when you sent me 1 box of this for the Super Bowl contest, I pulled an MJD black 1/1 auto! It’s sick. Thank you so much for the box!

  3. I didn’t get a hot box with my contest win….but I got a EJ Manuel auto /25!!! Thanks to you, Tracy – and Panini!!! (The other “filler” hits were, well – Trent Richardson patch /49 and a Lattimore patch /49 and a Geno Smith base rookie…and a prospect auto)… So, I didn’t get a hot box, per se…but I gotta freaking AWESOME box!!!!

  4. looks good but we would love to see HOT BOXES in all your Panini football products, loaded with low #’d parallels and auto’s and patches, maybe like one every 2 or 3 cases, It would increase Sales and attention and excitement for all your products and cost u guys a fraction compared to all the positivity it would create among Panini collectors and breakers. Just sayin “hot boxes” should be part of the Panini experience across the board!!!!!!!

  5. Woah hot boxes this year are sweet! I can’t wait to get my box it should come this week. Thanks much Tracy and Panini-
