Panini America officials on Wednesday confirmed that Canadian Football League superstars Henry Burris and Chad Owens will attend the company’s invitation-only Panini VIP Party next Saturday in Toronto. When it comes to football north of the border, it gets no bigger than Burris and Owens.
Burris, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ legendary quarterback, is a two-time Grey Cup Champion who has earned Grey Cup MVP (2008) and CFL Most Outstanding Player (2010) honors. Owens, the CFL’s reigning Most Outstanding Player from the Toronto Argonauts, established a new single-season CFL record in 2012 with 3,862 total yards. Owens also is a budding mixed martial artist who won his first professional fight in April.
Burris and Owens will join Eric Lindros and other as-yet-unannounced special Panini America guests in engaging and interacting with party-goers. Guests also will sign special Panini Authentic photographs for attendees.
Stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance in the coming days we continue to unveil additional VIP guests and detail our complete wrapper-redemption plans for the next week’s 2013 Toronto Fall Expo.
Smiling Hank is going to be there, that is so awesome, I miss him playing on the Stampeders but it was a trade that needed to happen and he is doing well in Hamilton.
Very cool. My brother was and is a big CFL fan. He has been to many Grey Cups the last 20 years or so.
For the record, in terms of football above the border it does get bigger than Burris and Owens…much bigger: Anthony Calvillo. Please get his auto on a card soon!
Very cool!
So, is Panini getting into CFL cards….? That would be quite the thing 🙂
