ROSEMONT, Ill. — The hits keep coming for Panini America wrapper redeemers at the 2011 National Sports Collectors Convention. And in this case, the hits are hand-drawn works of art from some of the top rookies in the NFL.

And while we could talk all day about the small number of original 2011 NFL Rookie Sketch Cards randomly inserted inside the company’s wrapper-redemption program, we figured we’d let New Orleans Saints running back, former Heisman Trophy winner and National Champion Mark Ingram do the talking for us.

Good luck to those of you busting packs at the Panini America booth. Here’s hoping this Ingram masterpiece or those masterpieces created by his fellow 2011 rookies and even Winnipeg Jets superstar Dustin Byfuglien find their way into your collections.

  3. I have to say, these look pretty stupid to me. If you’re gonna get the players to sketch something, pick some guys with at least a little talent. Talk about mailing it in.

  4. I like Dalton’s approach. Can never go wrong redoing the team’s logo. Would have been cooler in color though.

  5. Really wished i could go!! These are so cool! Very unique idea guys!! Its always awesome to be able to add something unique to a collection and these are one of a kind!

  6. these are great and the fact they can not draw makes it better for me. It shows they were not afraid to have fun with it

  7. You see, that’s the way a sketch card should be done! Ingram, you did quite well! Thanks for making it fun for us at home, Panini.

  8. If these guys were Rembrants they would be painting, and not being the awsome players they are. It’a great to see some original artwork from them. Now with Panini latest giveaway, some of us who weren’t able to go to the National, may get a redemption package. Woo Hoo!!

  9. This was an awesome idea! It’s awesome to get a better feel into a pro athletes life. Even into a minor thing such as artistic ability. Andy did a great job with that Bengals logo.

  10. Ingram seems like a pretty cool guy and not a bad artist I guess, haha. I’m not quite sure what Big Buff drew but I would love to get my hands on that card!

  11. Those are some sickly awesome cards. i wish i was able to go, but i had to go out of town for work. Panini looks like they did a great job, and what a pack redemption program. i went to the last national in chicago and no card company created as much buzz as panini has this year.

  12. Those look like a cool group of cards! I think that the way you are putting these out make them a very special pull. I think that anyone who pulls the Ingram in the video would definitely have a cool story to tell about it! The boat card could be the basis of a great fish story!

  13. I actually love sketch cards, as long as they’re autographed on the back then I think they’re unique and fun!
