Eureka! Panini America Updates the 2010-11 Gold Standard Basketball Solid Gold Tracker
More than a month since the product released, 2010-11 Gold Standard Basketball continues to leave its precious-metal mark all over the world.
The first buzz was created in Taiwan with the uncovering of the product’s first Golden Ticket. In the weeks since, the product’s 14-karat gold Solid Gold insert cards — popping up in places as far away as Paris, France and Victoria, Australia — have created a frenzy that rivals that surrounding their predecessors in Playoff Contenders Football and Hockey.
The first confirmed sale we tracked of a Solid Gold card, that of Tim Duncan, closed at an impressive $1,500. But in the few weeks since our Solid Gold Tracker first debuted, we’ve seen a flurry of additional secondary market activity. Some of the highlights have included Derrick Rose selling for $2,750, Scottie Pippen selling for $2,000 and Carmelo Anthony selling for $1,400.
To date, though, just 12 Solid Gold cards have been redeemed and sent to lucky collectors, and those are included in the updated Solid Gold Tracker below.
