Exploring a trading card product in its uncut-sheet form can often provide a different level of appreciation than simply pulling one card at a time can -- and that is especially true when it comes to the funky-futuristic feel of the rare Kaboom! and Knights of the Round inserts coming to Panini America's 2014-15 Excalibur Basketball.

Panini America 2014-15 Immaculate Basketball Uncut (56)

Exploring a trading card product in its uncut-sheet form can often provide a different level of appreciation than simply pulling one card at a time can — and that is especially true when it comes to the funky-futuristic feel of the rare Kaboom! and Knights of the Round inserts coming to Panini America’s 2014-15 Excalibur Basketball.

Both inserts in the Target-only release that begins shipping to stores on Monday provide a mesmerizing study that seems to become more rewarding the longer you look. In the case of the popular Kaboom!, noted Hungarian illustrator Gyula Nemeth once again shows us what some of our favorite NBA stars might look like as comic-book superheroes. The fact that they will fall less than one per case should only add to their appeal.

As for Knights of the Round, these deftly die-cuts will be exclusive to 2014-15 Excalibur Basketball Gravity-Feed packs and will fall roughly one in 29 packs. In the gallery that follows, we examine both inserts as they appear on one sublime uncut sheet. Enjoy the preview and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance tomorrow for the 2014-15 Excalibur Basketball Quality Control Gallery.

  1. Very nice, very intriguing. I’m curious to see how the 2ndry market responds to these scarce inserts.
What are the price points for the 3 levels of Retail Only product?
    Thanks, Tracy-
