Feel the Thrill with Panini’s 23-24 Recon Basketball

It’s a thrilling time of year on the NBA calendar and Panini’s Recon Basketball returns to add to that excitement. The 2023-24 release of Recon features a large selection of autograph, insert and parallel content. Each hobby box contains two autos, featuring some fascinating rookies, showstopping vets and captivating legends.

Two of the most exciting newcomers that highlight Recon’s autograph list come from the same family. The Thompson twins, Amen and Ausar, headline the live signatures from first-year players. Both bros profoundly impacted their respective organizations by thriving in positionless basketball scenarios, helping to usher in a new era of basketball.

The warriors’  Brandin Podziemski and OKC’s Cason Wallace, who brought game-changing energy each night for competitive teams, are also highlighted.

Podziemski became a fan favorite and an instant culture fit in Golden State thanks to his willingness to do the little things. He stood out by constantly making the right pass, creating second-chance opportunities, and by flipping the momentum of games by drawing charges.

Wallace also had a smooth transition thanks to his ability to hit his open looks and stop opponents from getting easy ones.

High-flying talents Ja Morant and Anthony Edwards, who bring an immense amount of swagger every time they come to the arena, also have ink throughout Recon that you’re going to want to find.

The legendary Stephen Curry, who is like an entertaining hibachi chef (you just never get tired of watching him cook), rounds out the group of top-tier autos to collect.

There are a ton of new additions to Recon for 2023-24 in the form of:

  • SP Inserts – Fuzion, Contours and Base Gala, which you may recognize from Chronicles
  • Autograph inserts –  Novice Patch Autographs, Seasoned Pro Autographs and Archetype Signatures
  • Parallels – Purple (numbered to 75) and Effect (25), included on inserts such as Vector, Rookie Recon, Future Legends, Rock the Rim, The Mighty, Rookie Portraits, Rookie Review, World Travelers, Fleet Feet and Sky’s the Limit.

Notable returning inserts include Sophomore Acetate Autographs, Draft Night Acetate Signatures, and Rookie Jersey Autographs.

You’ll also find a ton of joy collecting Recon’s Base and Base Rookie sets with a variety of pretty parallels such as Holo Bronze (numbered to 299), Holo Blue (99), Holo Gold (10), Holo Green (5), Holo Platinum (1 of 1), and super-short-printed Holo Dots!

Also, be sure to also look for the new Base and Base Rookies Holo Effect (numbered to 49).
