Panini America 2013 NBA Finals Auto Arrivals (24)

Basketball fans across the world seeking insight into tonight’s monumental NBA Finals Game 7 between the San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat might be surprised to find it right now in — of all places — the Panini America Acquisitions vault. Indeed, there’s probably something to be gleaned by studying which players from which teams have signed and returned their Panini America autographs in the days since the 2013 NBA Finals tipped off.

And on that scoreboard, Miami has a commanding 2-0 lead. In the last two days, we’ve received autographs from Heat veterans Udonis Haslem (for 2012-13 Signatures Basketball) and Shane Battier (2012-13 National Treasures Basketball), which means that at some point in the last week, amid the international media circus that engulfs the NBA’s championship tournament, those two Miami stars have made the time to leave their mark on Panini America cards. As a result, they’ve likely made their mark on Panini America collectors, too.

While I’m not sure exactly how that will translate tonight, it is pretty cool nonetheless. Cooler still? The other on-card autographs that have hit Panini America HQ this week. While the first wave of 2012-13 National Treasures Basketball returns have commanded most of the attention internally (especially the Logoman rarities from Battier, Kevin Love and Tyreke Evans), Blake Griffin’s Superscribe autos from the upcoming 2012-13 Gold Standard Basketball created quite a buzz, too.

Although the Griffins arrived too late to make packout for Gold Standard, collectors pulling one of the redemptions can take solace in knowing that the cards are signed, sealed and ready to be delivered immediately. Also arriving this week were Kenneth Faried’s Golden Futures XRCs from the 2011-12 Gold Standard Draft Class Redemption program and a stunning selection of 2012-13 Signatures Basketball gems.

But the clear hoops headliners this week belong to the highly anticipated 2012-13 National Treasures Basketball release, including Jerry West, Bill Walton and Rick Barry. You can check them all out in the gallery below as a means of getting ready for tonight’s Game 7. Enjoy the gallery. Enjoy the game. And stay glued to the Panini America Twitter feed tonight to find out how you can win one of seven boxes of Panini America NBA trading cards during tonight’s #PaniniWildCard contest.

  1. We all know how great the NT cards are, but I REALLY like the look of the on-card Panini Signatures autographs. The colors on those cards pop extremely well. Kudos to the design and print teams on the execution.

      1. Agreed, the film slide autos are going to be among my acquisition targets when this product streets. I would love to see more as they come in.

    1. What will the price be on the NT basketball? I think as a collector, honestly, if I were to pay $300 to $500 a box and the best card I could get was one of the cards shown, id be upset!

  2. Looking forward for Gold Standard Next week!!!
It would be our first ever Gold Bar From D Best Hobby Card Company!

  3. Some truly enviable cards in that gallery, the NBA logoman is such a unique patch card. Thanks Tracy!

  4. Locked inon two cases already, and want to get into many group breaks and buy a ton of sinlge boxes. Hope they don’t jump super high in price, because 603 is already a big number. I want to hit a huge rookie patch auto/ logoman in the worst way, but probable wont haha. Anyway thanks for the up to date looks. Take care Tracy

  5. LOVE the clean look of this year’s NT. Great job with these (along with the 2012 NT Football). So good that you got me sucked back into the hobby that I loved when I was a kid, almost two decades ago! Only now I can afford this a little easier than I could back when I had a $10 a week allowance…sorta.
