Panini America NFL brand managers Carlos Torrez and Aik Tongtharadol spent a good chunk of Thursday morning at the company printing facility overseeing the early quality-control stages for the sparkling new 2012 Momentum Football.

The newest addition to Panini America’s stacked 2012 NFL roster delivers Rookie Cards graced with multi-memorabilia, shimmering-foil fronts, base cards with a subtle hint of spot-UV coating, plenty of prime and legends-based memorabilia cards, Printing Plate autographs and the return of the real-diamond-encrusted Studs insert.

We’ll have lots more to preview from the 2012 Momentum Football QC process in the coming days, but we wanted to bring you this preliminary first look at the product — which releases September 12 — this morning.

Enjoy.

  1. Ive been waiting for this product to come out! I love the way these cards look,! The way that that Lamichael James All Threads Team jeresy and auto pops on the card and the Micheal Engrew Head Of The Class memorabilia looks nasty with the black and white background!!! Let me just say i got my preorders already in!!!

  2. Would call this product a DIAMOND in the rough! Wow…such a sick gallery.

The base cards look thick and high gloss…is that true?

  3. Those are great…even better with my Steelers – two of the best all-time with Franco & Stallworth on the same card! A nice visual to head into the long weekend! Thanks for sharing!

  4. Tracy these cards looks great!! Im wondering what the NFL shield cards are all about. If their numbered low, or actual shield from their jerseys? Either way they have a very classy look and great to pull you favorite rookie . That Luck printing plate is awesome too.

    1. Yes, those are the shields from the new Nike jerseys the players wore at the 2012 NFLPA Rookie Premiere. Glad you like what you’ve seen so far. We’ll have tons more to preview in the next few days.

  5. I’m impressed. I am, however, consistently impressed by Panini’s Football releases. It appears that Momentum’s design draws from a number of products, including Baseball. The shields are great as are the memorabilia printing plates. The most intriguing element, in my opinion, is the unauto’d Jersey swatch and patch cards. Can the product get collectors stoked? Single color swatches, even large ones, tend to fall flat. In really interested to see how the product is received… And what may be found in the one box I have been saving for!

  6. Those Rookie Team Threads and the NFL Shield cards are absolutely rediculous (in a good way)! I really need you guys to stop making these kinds of cards, you’re killing my budget! Whats the MSRP on a box of these?
