Hollywood Blockbuster: Bradley Cooper, Sly Stallone, More Star in 2015 Americana

If Panini America's upcoming 2015 Americana was a Hollywood movie instead of a trading-card product, it would likely go down as the biggest-budgeted blockbuster ever made; a meandering, mass-appealing epic starring Bradley Cooper, Sylvester Stallone, Al Pacino and Kevin Hart but featuring cameo appearances from sports entertainment icons (Hulk Hogan, Chris Jericho) and other stars of the big and small screens (Corbin Bernsen, Ian Ziering and Laura Dern to name three).

If Panini America’s upcoming 2015 Americana was a Hollywood movie instead of a trading-card set, it would likely go down as the biggest-budgeted blockbuster ever made; a meandering, mass-appealing epic starring Bradley Cooper, Sylvester Stallone, Al Pacino and Kevin Hart but featuring cameo appearances from sports entertainment icons (Hulk Hogan, Chris Jericho) and other stars of the big and small screens (Corbin Bernsen, Ian Ziering and Laura Dern to name three).

It would include nods to reality television and popular sitcoms and sports (as you’ll see in the gallery below), and quite possibly the most improbable mashup of a soundtrack ever made with hits delivered by the likes of Rev Run, Kelly Rowland, Vince Neil, Vanilla Ice, DJ Kool and DJ Jazzy Jeff. It would be, in a word, legendary — if it were a movie. But since 2015 Americana is a trading-card set, well, it’s still going to be pretty legendary.

Earlier this week, Panini America Brand Manager Aik Tongtharadol spent some quality time over at the Panini America production facility overseeing packout for 2015 Americana, which releases nationwide on Wednesday. That makes the gallery below something a trading-card trailer — a revealing sneak peek at what promises to be one of the most memorable releases of this or any other season.

It’s got funky-cool die-cuts, a star-studded autograph roster, unique Freeze Frame film-slide cards and star-worn memorabilia from a wide-ranging selection of actors, musicians, sports legends and more. Each hobby box of 2015 Americana (five cards per pack, 10 packs per box) will deliver four autograph or memorabilia cards (at least two autographs guaranteed); all 73 celebrities on the base-set checklist are also featured on memorabilia and autograph cards.

Enjoy the sneak peek and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for continued coverage of 2015 Americana.

    1. amazing checklist. I need to get my hands onto some. the pictures fully called up for me and my bad internet this time. Going to be one epic release!!!

  1. I’ve never heard of most of these people, and don’t care about most of the rest. However, there are enough people in the set I find interesting that I would pick up a pack or two-maybe even a retail blaster if it is available. The design is excellent. I believe this is the first time many of these people have signed autographs on cards.

  2. Why do all the female celebrity cards say “Actor”? Surely it wouldnt have been much trouble to just print ‘Actress”

  3. The hidden logo is on Vince Neil on the tube card located on his right side chest on his leather vest

  4. Just looking through the album and I’ve noticed some errors. Above the names of most of the women Actresses they are noted as Actors. There were a few women noted as Actresses however, so it definitely doesn’t seem to be on purpose. For example, the Joan Collins On the Tube card has her labeled “Actor” while just a few cards prior the Jill Wagner is correctly labeled “Actress”

  5. I will never understand this product. Joe Giudice really I guess maybe you can get a cut auto of one of his bad checks. Just seems like it’s a product of D list people most likely to be on some “Apprentice” show. LOL they could get Tanya Harding or Frank Stallone to sign.
