iCollectPanini Bringing Prizm Pylon Parallel Promo to Panini Authentic Auction Block
Thirty days. Three hundred auctions. That’s the gist of a truly unique iCollectPanini.com promotion that kicks off next week using the Panini Authentic auction platform. Indeed, folks who thought yesterday’s release of 2012 National Treasures Football marked the official end of the 2012 NFL trading card season are in for a big, bright, fluorescent surprise.
Just like fans and collectors, Panini America officials aren’t quite ready to say “goodbye” to the historic 2012 NFL season just yet. So, the company has combined this season’s most popular printing technology (Prizm) with one of history’s most coveted classes to create ultra-rare Prizm Pylon Parallels – 300 cards, each a 1/1, in an iCollectPanini-exclusive pylon-orange color scheme.
The cards will be available to collectors through a month-long series of 24-hour auctions hosted on the Panini Authentic auction website, beginning with the first 10 cards going live next Friday (April 19) at 12 p.m. CST. The Panini America Prizm Pylon promotion will then continue with the listing of 10 new cards each day until May 18, the last day of auctions that coincides perfectly with the 2013 NFLPA Rookie Premiere and the introduction of the new Rookie Class in 2013 Score Football.
Each daily auction will begin at 12 p.m. (CST) and will end the following day at 11:59 a.m. (CST) in a fitting farewell to the class of 2012.
“2012 was a truly spectacular year for licensed NFL trading cards, easily one of the best of all time,” said Panini America CEO Mark Warsop. “And we wanted to create a unique and fitting celebration to honor it. That’s what the Prizm Pylon Parallel promotion is all about.”
The auctions begin one week from tomorrow. Stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance in the coming days for additional information and a detailed auction schedule. And be sure to follow the all of the auction action on Twitter using the #PaniniPylon hash tag.
For now, though, enjoy this world-premiere reveal of the Prizm Pylon Parallels as they appeared this morning on hot-off-the-presses uncut sheets. We’ll have more sneak peeks next week, including the final cut cards and their “1 of 1” backs.
