Inside Flawless: Jumbo Patches Pack ‘Wow!’ Factor for 2012-13 Flawless Basketball

The trailer's been criticized, panned, applauded, scrutinized, laughed at and picked up by the mainstream media. The diamonds and emeralds have been previewed. Indeed, yesterday was a busy day for previewing various aspects of Panini America's 2012-13 Flawless Basketball. And now that yesterday is over, we can get down to peeking the myriad other pieces of flawlessness hand-placed into the product's "sleek, Bond villain-esque" metal suitcases. (By the way, that's not our description of the packaging, it's how SI.com's Extra Mustard described it, but we happen to love it.)

  1. Wow, if only a handful of players weren’t there (the likes of Fat Lever, Glen Davis, Gus Williams etc) and it was just the rest of the stars, this would possibly be the greatest patch set ever made. It still looks impressive though – well done Panini.

    1. I looked at the checklist and out of the 75 card set only 6 aren’t all-stars or former all-stars. That seems about as good as it gets. (Fat Lever and Gus Williams are fromer all-stars) Non- all-stars are as follows:

      Glen Davis
      Greg Monroe
      Derrick Favors
      Brandon Jennings
      Marcin Gortat
      Jason Williams

FYI rookies have there own patch set, so they’re not counted in the total.

  2. Those are quite stunning images. The Malone patch is just so beautiful, that I will just print it out and hang it in my office at work to make me smile. At least until I can pick one up and hold it in my own hands.

  3. Alright alright Tracy, I have to admit, I really like this “trick”… These cards are absolutely gorgeous. Well done Panini. I am really looking forward to the rare ink preview tomorrow. Thanks for the preview!

  4. wow very appealing to the eyes

    faint worthy mojos

thanks panini, thanks tracy, i hope there are no redemptions on this one..

  5. Hi Tracy, very well done with these cards. Just wondering would there be any Logoman cards in this product? Keep up the good work.

  6. Never mind the LIKE’s it all where is the LOVE IT ALL BUTTON! AWESOME FLAWLESS JOB PANINI! Thanks for the view! I won’t be able to afford this product BUT thank you for letting me see the ALL the Beauty in these cards! Awesomely Flawless! As I always say, and should be your new motto : ” PANINI PACKS THE PUNCH! “

  7. Ahhh here is another Maravich patch, good to see it.
The Manute Bol patch looks really cool, even thou i am not collecting his cards, but still good to see this kind of beautiful cards about him, he deserves to be in this set for sure!
    Great job!

  8. Well I thought the trailer was hilariously bad but it`s the “picked up by the mainstream media” that`s the important thing. Job done Mr. Hackler. Also these patches are FILTHY!

  9. These truly are gorgeous cards–that Dirk /25 is –wait for it——-ReDIRKulous. Plus White Chocolate, a cracking Nate Thurmond, Reggie Lewis, all those sweet Blazer cards. Are there any Sonic jersey jumbo’s–give me a heads up so I don’t have an event! Love it but will never afford a box unfortunately!

  10. Beautiful cards!!! What else is there to say, its simply one of the best cards ever produced. Can’t wait to see what is in store tomorrow!
    Team Panini Rocks.

  11. WOW! Great Job Panini America! Game USED Patches, On-card Autographs, Only the TOP 25 ROOKIES from the last TWO YEARS! Top to bottom, FLAWLESS Basketball is THE BEST product ever! WE WANT MORE PICTURES!!!! Can’t wait until release…. Is it Wednesday yet?

  12. Ohhhh boy. I can’t even take a guess at how much one of the Reggie Lewis cards will go for. I have yet to see one of his Prime cards get listed on eBay, but I have been looking. I’m definitely going to set some money aside for one of those bad boys.

  13. And the hits just keep coming. Pretty impressive to have two products like Flawless and Immaculate released in the same year let alone so close together. Should make for a fun couple of months. Can’t wait!!!

  14. Sad part about this, is that the Lebron card 6/10 patch will sell for 2500 to 3000 bucks and you should be able to get the whole jersey for that. Waiting for Immaculate

  15. Very impressive gallery, these are exactly the kind of memorabilia cards I think we all expected from this high end product but it’s still a pleasant surprise to see the variety and depth of the checklist. Thanks Tracy!

  16. I was one of the people who did NOT believe in this product but these patches are making me definitely revisit that thought, these are excellent!

  17. i love the idea of veterans players with GU cards…..i see a lot of throwback jerseys and it’s great…. but no Sonics?…. Gary Payton…Detlef Schrempf… Shawn Kemp…just saying.

    1. Very Very nice. If I can have at least one of my fave players that I am collectiong: Dirk, Parsons, Manu or Garnett, I would be really the luckiest guy on the planet lol. Nice design Panini, as always, you never fail to impress us with your unique set of designs that makes us love your products more and more.
