With 48 teams playing 104 fixtures across 16 host cities, the FIFA World Cup 2026™ is set to be the grandest edition in the rich history of the tournament. In anticipation, fans have been busy ripping stickers and placing them neatly inside Panini’s FIFA World Cup 2026™ Official Sticker Album, an adhesive hobby that’s almost as iconic as the tournament itself.

That album-filling fun will continue as the matches start kicking off. The initial tilt comes on Thursday, June 11th, when co-host Mexico takes on South Africa. Fellow co-hosts Canada (vs. Bosnia-Herzegovina) and the United States (vs. Paraguay) hit the pitch on the following day to really get the finals into high gear.

From there, all the way through the grand finale on July 19, days will be full of nonstop football action featuring the most talented players in the world. Speaking of those players, let’s put a few under the spotlight.

Returning for another go after helping guide his group to the mountaintop four years ago, Lionel Messi will once again headline an Argentina roster that still ranks among the world’s best. Fellow legend Harry Kane enters the tournament in fine form and will attempt to guide England to its first title since the 1966 showpiece.

Erling Haaland and Martin Ødegaard already helped Norway return to the FIFA World Cup™ after 28 years away and now aim to spearhead a deep run. Spain’s Lamine Yamal enters hoping to up his face-of-the-sport potential, while Brazil’s Vini Jr. looks to add the ultimate award to an already sparkling trophy case.

Those are just a few of the top talents ready to showcase their skills on the game’s biggest stage. Nearly every team has at least one star that can take over a match at any moment, sparking the type of tourney-changing highlight that’s remembered for years.

On the club side, it’s more of the same. Every qualified squad is motivated to bring home the trophy, even if capturing the ultimate prize would be extra special to some. Four countries are making their World Cup debuts, as Jordan, Cabo Verde, Curaçao and Uzbekistan all hope to enjoy some beginner’s luck.

As for the favorites? They’re hoping to prove that sometimes, Goliath beats David. The aforementioned powerhouses like Spain, England and Brazil all hope for deep runs, while equally excellent rosters from France, Portugal and Germany do the same. Look out for sleepers like Morocco, Belgium and Colombia as well. They all come with more than enough firepower to compete for gold.

There are too many players, teams and storylines to cover. It is the biggest tournament ever, after all. The best piece of advice is just to sit back and enjoy, cheering on your squad of choice along the way.

Check back for Panini updates throughout, whether that means finding a sticker swap event to fill out your album or picking up a fresh Instant card celebrating the tournament’s most recent highlights from the first match all the way through the final celebration.
