Panini Instant Kevin Durant Warriors Auto

Panini America-exclusive athlete and former Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant made arguably the biggest headlines in the history of NBA free agency earlier this month by opting to leave the Thunder and join the Western Conference-rival Golden State Warriors. It was a move that so shook the foundation of the NBA that the reverberations are still being felt today.

They’ll be felt tomorrow, too. That’s when Panini America’s Panini Instant program will introduce Durant’s historic first Golden State Warriors trading cards. The cards will be available to purchase on the Panini Instant website for just 24 hours. Panini America is also using Durant’s Warriors debut to spearhead a few major additions and enhancements to the Panini Instant platform.

For starters, Durant’s release will be the first in an ongoing series of cards devoted to the biggest moves of the offseason, including a special retirement card featuring Tim Duncan that will go live on Wednesday, July 20 and be available for 24 hours. Other major acquisitions scheduled to be featured in their new uniforms include Derrick RoseDwyane Wade, Pau Gasol, Dwight Howard and more.

But perhaps even more important than the upcoming new releases are a few fundamental changes to the Panini Instant program that fans and collectors will notice starting tomorrow:

  • New numbered variations added for each release. In addition to the standard base card (made to order) and variations numbered to one, five and 25, Panini Instant now will also offer variations numbered to 10 and 50.
  • New bundle options added for base cards. In addition to standard single cards and five-counts, Panini Instant will now offer a 10-count option.
  • New facsimile autograph option. Fans and collectors will now have the option to add a facsimile autograph of the featured player to numbered variations for an additional charge.

In the coming weeks and months, Panini America will introduce real-time Panini Instant cards for the NBA Rookie Photo Shoot, Basketball Hall of Fame induction ceremony and more. Stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance and Panini America’s social media channels for more information on new releases.

  1. Really glad the on-demand sports cards has come to Panini. Would you consider in the future making these Prizm cards, and having the parallels as the Prizms?

  2. Great to see the expansion of the program, variety definitely breeds interest. Any possibility of actual autos at some point as limited/random inserts? Thanks Tracy!
