Knight Time: Official Blog of Panini America Still Going Strong Two Years Later

Turns out time does fly when you're having fun -- which must be why it seems like only yesterday that we started The Knight's Lance. In reality, we debuted the official blog of Panini America two years ago today -- Oct. 22, 2010 -- with a simple press release announcing the launch.

Turns out time does fly when you’re having fun — which must be why it seems like only yesterday that we started The Knight’s Lance. In reality, we debuted the official blog of Panini America two years ago today — Oct. 22, 2010 — with a simple press release announcing the launch.

More than 28,000 comments, 1,300 posts, 1,000 subscribers and countless prize giveaways later, The Knight’s Lance has become, among other things, the definitive voice for all things Panini America . . . a backstage pass to the inner workings of the trading card leader . . . a thriving collecting community . . . a must-visit daily destination . . . a frequent contributor of source material for mainstream sports Websites . . . a sounding board of innovative ideas, hot hobby opinions and good times.

“The Knight’s Lance gives us a unique platform to share what happens at Panini America,” company Vice President of Marketing Jason Howarth said in that original release. “We look forward to creating an engaging forum with collectors and retailers through the blog.”

Those collectors, by the way, deserve most of the credit. Your the ones who’ve made The Knight’s Lance so meaningful, so enjoyable, so worthwhile. Without you, there would be no us — and we never take that fact for granted.

Your the reason we update the blog with compelling content multiple times per day (whether we’re at home in our Irving, Texas, headquarters, or on the road at major shows and sporting events). You’re the reason we produce must-see world-premiere videos of our products being opened, of our products being made and of our interviews with some of the greatest athletes in the world of sports.

When you can’t make it to the biggest cards shows or the Industry Summit or the Super Bowl or the All-Star Game or the rookie photo shoots, we’re your eyes and ears on the ground, doing our best to at least make you feel like you’re there. When Panini America news breaks, it breaks right here first.

Simply, The Knight’s Lance has grown to be many things to many collectors in two short years. Here’s hoping the next two years — and the many years after that — are every bit enjoyable as these first two years have been. To everyone inside the building — but especially to everyone outside this building — who has contributed to the success of The Knight’s Lance, we say “thank you.”

Truth be told, we’re just getting started.

  6. Happy 2nd Anniversary Knights Lance. I want to make a suggestion if I may. The new look is cool and all, but can you make the color for the comments darker. It is hard to read the grey letter against the white background. Makes it a little hard on the eyes, if you know what I mean. Other than that, nice upgrade.

    1. I’d have to agree on making the comments darker. The Knight’s certainly got an upgrade. Are they the Knights that say…….Pa NI-NI? Sorry, bad Monty Python reference!! Congrats on two years!

  7. Congrats on the official 2 year anniversary to everyone at Panini America. It is the single best blog on the internet and the only one I can proudly say I visit regularly. Thanks for all the great work!

  8. First off, congrats again on 2 great years.

I also like the new look for the most part…anyway to make the comments look a little nicer? White background with grey text is my only complaint. Keep up the great work.

  9. Glad I found this blog 2 years ago. I have not missed a post or not missed commenting on one..hopefully you have noticed 🙂

Congrats on a great 2 years. Panini continues to put out the best products on the market. No lie!! They Topp all others and are always swinging over the Upper Deck to make their products stand out in hobby shops with their tremendous promotions, retail stores with cards and stickers and many more places and are always Press Pass-ing others in customer service. Gotta Leaf…meant Love Panini.
