Lava Flow, Cracked Ice and Autographs Add Pop to 2014 Panini America Father's Day

By now, you probably think you've seen just about everything there is to see when it comes to Panini America's 2014 Father's Day set. After all, between the first sneak peek we brought you earlier this month, the memorabilia exploration we brought you two days later and yesterday's reveal, you have seen quite a bit. But there's still so much left to show.

By now, you probably think you’ve seen just about everything there is to see when it comes to Panini America’s 2014 Father’s Day set. After all, between the first sneak peek we brought you earlier this month, the memorabilia exploration we brought you two days later and yesterday’s reveal, you have seen quite a bit. But there’s still so much left to show.
Today, we’re going to showcase two particular aspects of this year’s set that have become calling-card cornerstones of just about every Panini America promotional set: The legendary Cracked Ice and Lava Flow parallels. In addition, we’re going to take a look at just some of the autographs coming to the 2014 Panini America Father’s Day promotion.

This year, for the first time ever, Panini America officials have numbered the base Cracked Ice and Lava Flow parallels to 25 and 1, respectively. Previously, the popular chase cards were given a stated print run but included no numbering. Cracked Ice and Lava Flow versions of the set’s memorabilia and autograph cards are not numbered this year, but they are quite rare. You’ll get an unadulterated Cracked Ice and Lava Flow eye-candy buffet in the gallery that follows. Consider the autographs at the top of the gallery the appetizer.
For collectors who don’t have a participating Panini America Father’s Day dealer in their area but who still want to get in on the action, the iCollectPanini.com portion of the program launched late yesterday. You can access the dealer store list here: 2014 Panini America Father’s Day Store List.
Enjoy the gallery and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional coverage of the 2014 Father’s Day promotion.

  1. I am glad to see the individual numbering on the base parallels. There’s always been speculation about how many cracked ice/lave flow parallels there were. This more or less legitimizes that, in my opinion, leaving no room for doubt or mix-ups.
On the mem and auto cards, it would be nice just to have a list or a general rule like: mem cracked ice cards have a print run of __. Auto lava flows have a print run of __.
I really like the overall mix of sports this year!!
I am also looking forward to the /7 (if I read correctly) world cup soccer parallels!!!
Can’t wait for my order to come in!!

  2. Tracy, how rare are the memorabilia Lava Flow cards?
Also, how rare are the autos on the fabric with the team logos?

  3. Very nice gallery, I don’t think people can really appreciate either parallel until they hold one in their hands. So participate in the promotion and get some from the packs! Thanks Tracy!
