From the opening day to the final furious night, Panini America made one bold statement after another during the just-completed 2012 Industry Summit, one of the most important events on the trading card industry calendar every year.
Panini America officials took a leadership position throughout the three days in Las Vegas, partnering with Peach State Sports to bring 2011 Heisman Trophy finalist Trent Richardson for a public signing on Sunday night, and with GTS Distribution and Cardboard Connection for an absolutely raucous Ultimate Case Break party on Tuesday night.

In between, Panini America executives caused another Black Box frenzy, and engaged and interacted with attendees through compelling public addresses, meaningful one-on-one meetings and informal round-table discussions that were as revealing as they were well received.
We covered all of the action right here on The Knight’s Lance, but before we look ahead to the action-packed months ahead, we wanted to take one final look back with a gallery of Panini America’s powerful presence at the 2012 Industry Summit.

  1. MY HAND MADE THE PICTURES! Well, holding the Landeskog card at least 🙂 Thanks to Panini, the other manufacturers, Kevin I, all the card stores and everyone else for making the Hobby Summit 2012 so rewarding. While my batteries haven’t fully recharged, I’m already looking forward to 2013 in Vegas!

  2. The history of Trading Cards…their evolution. From “bicycle spoke” insert to “flipping” to “scaling”…to issues becoming so valuable, they’re spanned in impact resistant, UV-filtering cases. Auto’d GU rookies… contemporary players, changing hands in the eBay marketplace for $15,000 is not uncommon.
Panini is now positioned at the forefront, and they clearly take the responsibility seriously by bringing collectors products possessing palpable and aesthetic value. This is an exciting time in the industry and hobby!

      1. Thanks for hosting the event, if you want help in the future controlling the chaos in the room I volunteer. You’ll just have to give me perma ops privleges when I’m in the room. Had a good time for sure!

  3. Enjoyed hanging out in the Panini blog room with you Tracy! Thanks for having some giveaways and for typing in all those blog tv user names! lol

  4. Great coverage for those of us who didn’t get to go. Thanks for it all Panini! Its much appreciated to see all of this!

  5. More and more and more great stuff from the leaders in the Sport card industry!! Way to go Panini! Keep up the great work!

  6. I also wanted to add..are all the Panini Unwrapped episodes going to be on the blogtv or are you going to post them here on the Knights Lance as well. I hope you post them here too! Really wanted to see the episodes of the week and the break of Totally Certified that was mentioned here yesterday.
Keep up the great work. Looks like it was one fun week in Vegas. With Black Boxes, Trent Richardson, blogtv and all of the other crazy things!! At least none of you woke up with different things in your room like Mike Tyson’s tiger or a monkey or a finger.

  7. Is it true there were 31 REDEMPTIONS in the 2 case break of Limited and Certified football!! How did THAT go over with you guys there…

      1. No complaints here. Of course lucking out with the Avalanche and pulling that sweet Landeskog along with some cool other autos and relics made it a great night. I am already looking forward to another Case Break in 2013 in Vegas 🙂

  8. Tracy, Great job covering The Summit. The case breaks were loads of fun. I participated in the Elite Extra Edition Baseball and the Preferred Basketball case breaks. And, I wish I could have gotten in on the Totally Certified Football case break.
We got our Totally Certified Football in today at the store and customers tore through it like it was a case break. Had to order more from my distributor.
