Let the Fireworks Begin: Explosive Looks at 2010-11 Dominion, National Treasures

As collectors around this great country of ours set out to celebrate the anniversary of America's independence this weekend, we thought it the perfect occasion to get things going early with this gallery of high-end trading cards that are likely to be the subject of their own hobby holiday when they release over the next several weeks.

We think you’ll agree that the sweetly signed cards — recent arrivals slated for inclusion in the heavily anticipated blockbusters 2010-11 Dominion Hockey and 2010-11 National Treasures Basketball — are awe-inspiring examples of collecting history.

Enjoy your holiday. But before you do, enjoy this . . .

  1. If you continue to get Joe Sakic to sign on-card like this, I will love you like I love no other. Got it?

  2. Any news on Gold Standard Basketball. I’ve seen Dominion, National Treasures, Totally Certified, among others but not Gold Standard.

  3. I can’t wait to get my hands on some of these amazing cards! The benchmark cards and the Tape To Tape and the Silver Ensigns and the Stckside Signings…. Love all of these fresh ideas!! On card autos and the sticks! I can only hope to hit any of the cards above! ANY ONE of these would be worth searching through countless boxes!

  4. Dominion is looking as beautiful as ever and you know I love me some Whalers autographs!

NT is looking good as well, but Larry Sanders needs a better autograph. That’s rough.

  5. Sticker auto on the 1/1 logoman Kevin Durant? I think on any card of that awesomeness should be on card auto. But I’d still love to own that card anyways.

  6. FINALLY (and I say that most emphatically) someone gets it right with “nickname” cards. You don;t stamp the bloody nickname on the card you make the player himself inscribe it.

Going the extra mile. That Iginla Notable Nicknames card is a microcosm of how Panini is putting the extra effort forward and giving collectors what they want.

All of those Dominion cards are absolutely STUNNING.

I am curious, how many of each Benchmark and Tape to tape are there? I obviously see multiple Lidstrom’s for the Tape to Tape and while the Sakic Benchmark has the full nameplate, others like the Makita and Hull have different pieces of stick so is there some with the nameplate and then other copies with varying pieces of stick?

No Kings this time? Hopefully you have no displeased the little dude, he LOVES these galleries. Make up for it next hockey gallery. 😉

Thanks for the scoop on the stick cards Tracy and we hope you guys have a wonderful holiday weekend!

  7. where can i preorder a box of basketball national treasures?
