LOS ANGELESPanini America officials hit the ground running first thing Monday morning at the inaugural AstroTurf NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, gathering images and autographs from 100 of the top draft prospects in the country in an effort to produce their first trading cards.

Most of the photography was captured Monday night and Tuesday morning, while the autographs — dispensed on specially marked stickers and embroidered patches — were procured on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. Stay tuned for more information on exactly where these special cards will end up.

The real highlight for the players in attendance, though, is likely to arrive later this week when their first actual Panini America trading cards will be delivered using the photos taken just days earlier.

What follows is a gallery full of highlights from Panini America’s first three days at the AstroTurf NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, including a brief visit to the fabled Rose Bowl for a little recon work.

  1. Very cool to get these guys so early. Been awhile since you guys had a “Guess the Autograph” contest… Maybe use some of these towards the next contest???

  2. Hopefully this years batch of draftees perform as well as last years group. I don’t think I have seen as season like last years where the rookies had an enormous impact!
Hey Tracy, on another note. Any idea when 2011 national treasures football will be released? Thanks

  3. I follow college football very closley and I can’t tell who the heck any of these guys ARE, except for Lee and Harris…
