Must-See Video & Gallery: Panini America's 2012 NFLPA Rookie Premiere "VNR"

Every year in conjunction with the NFLPA Rookie Premiere, Panini America officials work closely with every future NFL star in attendance to produce a comprehensive Video News Release (or "VNR" as it's known in mainstream media circles) chronicling the day's events. Once the final cut of the VNR has been approved by the NFLPA, usually some time late Saturday night, it is distributed via satellite to any media outlets who want to use it.

Every year in conjunction with the NFLPA Rookie Premiere, Panini America officials work closely with the future NFL stars in attendance to produce a comprehensive Video News Release (or “VNR” as it’s known in mainstream media circles) chronicling the day’s events. Once the final cut of the VNR has been approved by the NFLPA, usually some time late Saturday night, it is distributed via satellite to any media outlets who want to use it.
Since the first satellite feed Sunday afternoon, this year’s VNR already has been picked up by more than 100 television stations who simply can’t wait to deliver coverage of their market’s top rookies producing their first Panini America NFL trading cards. This year, for the first time ever, we’re also making the VNR available to you in its entirety via the two special videos below.

An essential part of the VNR process is to include special card mock-ups previewing examples of what each player’s first Rookie Cards will look like. This year, we dropped action photography from Saturday’s shoot into our base 2012 Score Football design, replaced the Score logo with a Panini logo for the sake of branding and dropped them in with each of the 35 player’s highlight package.
After you’ve watched the videos, stick around to checkout the complete VNR card gallery.

  1. First off… that shirt is SO SWEET!!! How much? Secondly, thank you fir the behind the scenes footage. Very cool. As a Wisconsin guy, I’m loving that you had the new Nike Seahawks jerseys. That Russell Wilson is looking nice! Cant wait to get some of his jersey cards. Thanks.

  2. Loving the clean crispness to the Score Rookies. Tell the design team A+++ there.
    Also, thats one sweet T!
And really like seeing the new Giants rookies in Randal and Wilson. To me, theres nothing more exciting than offensive rookies being drafted like Rb’s and Wr’s. Can’t wait to see how they fit in.
    And as always…love the video.

  3. Great video!!! Im so excited to collect this year football cards!!! Prestige cant get here fast enough!!!

  4. The Score logo would look better on there, but still sharp looking cards. Now, how do we get one of them shirts? 😀

  5. Tracy,
What happens to all the equipment these guys where for the event, like the helmets, shoes, pants?
Also, do they where many different jerseys throughout the day or does each player only use one?
    Thanks again,
    T

    1. Most of it gets turned into trading cards; not quite sure how many jerseys each player wore for Panini America this year, but it’s a reasonably small number. I’ll confirm with our product folks and find out.

  6. No T.Y. Hilton? He was announced to be a part of the Premiere on this site and the NFLPA news release. Any story there?
