It’s almost impossible to step your game up without the right footwear — which is why Panini America officials went about acquiring only the best for the revolutionary Jumbo Cleats insert coming to next week’s release of 2014 Immaculate Baseball. Consider the game stepped up in a major way with an Immaculate release that looks to emphatically stomp its footprint across the baseball card category.

Individually and collectively, the game-worn cleats acquired and incorporated into the Jumbo Cleats insert represent a spectacular piece of baseball — and baseball card — history. They toed the hot corner with Hall of Fame prowess in Philadelphia (Mike Schmidt). They took the batter’s box with the sweetest-swinging slugger San Diego’s ever known (Tony Gwynn). They were afoot for one of the greatest careers in Houston baseball history (Craig Biggio). They made the massive cleat marks of Boston’s beloved Big Papi (David Ortiz). They dug in as a bearded batsman made headlines north of the border (Jose Bautista). They helped the future shine bright in Atlanta (Freddie Freeman).

And now that they’ve been de-cleated, they’ll come together in a Jumbo Cleats insert that features what is believed to be the most extensive use of game-worn baseball shoes in trading card history. Every card in the set (four cards of each player) is hand-numbered “1/1” with the exception of Schmidt’s, which include two Nike logos numbered to two and two shoe tags numbered to two.

Making the Jumbo Cleats concept even cooler? The back of each card features a photo of each pair of the shoes in their intact state. You can check out every card in the set in the must-see gallery that follows. Stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional coverage of 2014 Immaculate Baseball in the days leading up to next Wednesday’s release.

  1. Another innovative and great set! I love all the Nike Swish’s with the Auto’s on them! Those are simply……………GREAT!! “PANINI PACKS THE PUNCH!” ©®

  2. Those Schmidt spikes are awesome and bring back some memories as I had those same kind as a kid waaaayyyyy back in the day. Guess I’ll be bidding if I’m not lucky enough to pull one of those.

  3. I hate to bother you, but I can’t get into the Panini website. I have tried to redeem a redemption card all week and I can;t get in. Do you have any idea about this and when the site will be working again?

    Thanks for your time.

    1. The site has been down intermittently during the last week as we transition to a new provider. We apologize for the inconvenience. Are you still experiencing issues accessing the site?

  4. They look great, any reason there are FOUR one of ONE’s for Tony Gwynn? Doesn’t one, usually = 1? Same card, same design, same everything, yet 4 of them are not 1 of 4, they are 1 of 1.

  5. Love of photo on back with the actual game used item, throwback to the early 2000’s Donruss/Playoff releases. Will this be the case for all the jumbo patches or just these specific cleat cards?

  6. Cleats? Panini got right to the point, as it were, and has fashioned another ground-breaking set that will have niche collectors drowning in their own drool.
I don’t believe that I’m over-stating things when I say that the product will turn memorabilia collecting on it’s head. This product will open up entirely new collecting niches…& it’s very exciting!
