Nebraska Volleyball Ends 2024 with Abundant Accolades
Written by: Kara Gates
As the rest of the world rings in the New Year, the Nebraska volleyball team ended 2024 by celebrating some incredible individual achievements, from astonishing AVCA All-America selections to truly career-defining awards.
Four Huskers were named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association All-America Teams, marking a stellar end to the year. Andi Jackson and Lexi Rodriguez earned spots on the All-America First Team, while Harper Murray and Bergen Reilly were honored as Second-Team selections. With these four honors, Nebraska’s all-time total climbs to an astounding 107 All-America selections, marking the most in NCAA history.
Rodriguez closed out her final year as a Husker with a plethora of achievements. After her newest All-America First Team selection this year, the leader joined the ranks of Nebraska legends Kadie Rolfzen (2013-16) and Sarah Pavan (2004-07) as the only four-time All-Americans in program history. With 1,882 career digs — eight shy of the school record — Rodriguez solidified herself as the Huskers’ defensive backbone. She ended her college career in style, leading Nebraska with 3.9 digs per set and earning Big Ten Libero of the Year honors for the third time.
Sophomore Andi Jackson earned an All-America First Team selection while being unanimously named to the All-Big Ten First Team. Jackson was a powerhouse in the middle throughout 2024, securing 2.6 kills per set and hitting an impressive .428, ranking ninth in the nation. Her standout performances, including a career-high eight blocks in the final two regular-season matches, marked her as one of the nation’s top blockers.
Harper Murray, another sophomore sensation, spent 2024 proving that the future of Nebraska volleyball is bright. With 3.4 kills per set, Murray was a consistent threat on offense. Her clutch performances in the NCAA Tournament, including a career-high 22 kills in a regional semifinal, cemented her place as one of the team’s most reliable players. She earned AVCA All-America honors, All-Big Ten First Team and AVCA All-Region nods.
Bergen Reilly, the dynamic sophomore setter, closed out the year with back-to-back All-America honors. Reilly, who is the only player in conference history to earn Big Ten Setter of the Year in both her freshman and sophomore seasons, was a catalyst for Nebraska’s offense in 2024, dishing out 11.1 assists per set.
As the world enters the New Year, a glance back at 2024 proves that these four Huskers spent the entire campaign elevating their team to new levels throughout the season.
More history is sure to be made in the months and years ahead, with some of the above players returning to school, and others embarking on professional careers. For now, you can check out Panini cards from these talented —and decorated — athletes on Panini’s NIL Portal.
