New Duds: NHL Star Dustin Byfuglien Dons Winnipeg Jets Sweater for the First Time

Oh, yeah, we also were joined at the Panini America booth on Saturday by special guest Dustin Byfuglien, the former Stanley Cup-winning member of the Chicago Blackhawks and Atlanta Thrashers who next season will don the everything-new-is-old-again colors of the Winnipeg Jets.

ST. PAUL, Minn. — To be sure, it’s been a banner weekend for Panini America at the 2011 NHL Draft. We’ve entertained the hockey-loving masses with a tantalizing wrapper-redemption program and we’ve interacted with  tomorrow’s next batch of collectible NHL superstars for interviews, photos and fun.

In fact, Byfuglien couldn’t wait for next season. Since we had award-winning sports photographer Ric Fogel on location at the 2011 NHL Draft to shoot the rookies for next season’s Panini America hockey card products, we asked him to shoot Big Buff in his new duds, too.

    1. Thrash Fan, You and your OLD team were flat out dust. You had the worst attendance in the NHL… Figure it out. flames left, now the trashers left. Shoulda thrown up in your mouth when the NHL said in 99 you were getting a team back because it wasn’t gonna work. It didn’t and it NEVER will.

  1. that’s not the official jersey. notice how it looks like a t-shirt on him, and there is no nhl crest on the front of the neck collar? plus phoenix owns the rights to that logo… so i highly doubt they will get that logo without paying a hefty fee.

    1. The Coyotes dont own the rights to that logo or the Jets name, the NHL does. That’s why the new Winnipeg team went with the old Jets name. They are going with a more modernized logo, it’ll help with jersey sales too.
